That's a........hoot! I got a good laugh out of it my Aggie brother!Hoot wrote: ↑January 18th, 2023, 3:03 pmApparently the D-Line coach beat boxes and freestyles while he talks to the guys. I guess it’s in an attempt to appeal to the younger audience. I can’t really blame the guys for leaving. Honestly I’ve questioned whether or not I can stay a fan because of this.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑January 18th, 2023, 3:01 pmWhy?GrandPoubah wrote: ↑January 18th, 2023, 2:51 pmI can tell you that I have a good source ….
There hasn’t been a player on the dLine whom didn’t go in the portal which hadn’t already decided to go in the portal by week 8.
They were all shopping after the BYU game.

Maybe i am out of touch with the meaning of certain phrases. What do you by the d-line coach beat boxes and freestyles while talking to the guys?Hoot wrote: ↑January 18th, 2023, 3:03 pmApparently the D-Line coach beat boxes and freestyles while he talks to the guys. If DeVine is asked to leave, the program needs to find the money to get Al back.

Re: Phil Paea
Maybe that should be the first deal of the NIL collective instead of for a player if we can't get the salary for him.3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑January 18th, 2023, 3:57 pmIf DeVine is asked to leave, the program needs to find the money to get Al back.

Just seems like we’ve lost a ton of folks. But we’ll see, I guess. Go Aggies

Re: Phil Paea
This, bring back Al and make him the second highest paid defensive coach. Seemed like the DL improved quite a bit though the season when he was here, to be one of our best units. Now they were not great. Also, he seemed to be one of our better recruiters.FromLItoLogan wrote: ↑January 18th, 2023, 4:27 pmMaybe that should be the first deal of the NIL collective instead of for a player if we can't get the salary for him.3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑January 18th, 2023, 3:57 pmIf DeVine is asked to leave, the program needs to find the money to get Al back.

Re: Phil Paea
He would beat box or more accurately I guess have an assistant beat box while he’d grab one of those karaoke mics you see at target and while watching film spit out something like this:Aggie84025 wrote: ↑January 18th, 2023, 3:39 pmMaybe i am out of touch with the meaning of certain phrases. “Yo check the left side, that’s my boy Danny G. Check out the gap, man you know he’s in the C!”
Or
“See this man here, his name is Patrick Joyner, sit in your chair and let me give you some pointers…”
Or
“They call him Byron Vaughn’s but you know he ain’t Dutch. See him in the weight room, he ain’t lifting too much!”
Also my sources have confirmed that he did beg the players on several occasions to follow his tik tok where he would basically do the same thing but with random household items.
“My hypocrisy goes only so far.”

Re: Phil Paea
Paea was our weak link in our DL. Pretty much anyone who filled in the spot did better than Paea. There is an issue with practice picking players instead of letting the game picking players.

Re: Phil Paea
The big reason this hurts is if he returned, he would be able to share all the inside information about Iowa's quarterback. But there's also Hunter Reynolds that, though he won't be around, would have all the same information and will hopefully share it with the guys before he leaves.

Re: Phil Paea
They got to celebrate their TFLs at pretty high rate. If only that meant anything to performing well you would have a point. Giving up 4.8 yards a carry and nearly 200 rushing yards, and 28 points a game was the sacrifice for those moments.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑January 18th, 2023, 3:11 pmOur dline performed decent well and feel like they can get other offers with NIL.
There are worse issues to have
Nothing wrong with TFLs if performed within the scope of your assignment and forcing double teams as a result. That wasn't happening.

Re: Phil Paea
Wasn’t good enough for the Aggies. Would’ve been second string at best.
