New Football Podcast?

Is there anyone (Brian Phillips perhaps) planning on doing a USU football inspired podcast? I know Isaac Draxler had one for a while. But listening to that guy was like pulling teeth. Would love it if someone with some decent content and pizzazz would start one. Go Aggies.

It wasn’t the sound of his voice that bothered me. At all. It was the weirdly long pauses, weak content, lack of enthusiasm and , it seemed at times, just general unpreparedness. Sorry, but it was absolutely awful to listen to. It was nice of him to do it for free. But I couldn’t listen to his podcasts even if you paid me. Just my opinion, of course. I’m sure Aggie Nation loves the guy. I just think we need someone with some spark that demands your attention. Go Aggies!

I don’t want to discourage anyone from doing it but I believe Learfield is part of the reason why us amateurs haven’t done this in the past.

Hartwell could do it…. Episodes include dirty jokes, Bovee does everything, Gary 2.0, why Laub hates me, my crush on Kayla, Kayla secrets, and who didn’t I fire.

I'd do one, but with my personality I might come off kind of like Zach Galafanakis doing "Between Two Ferns". If that's the kind of content people are looking for, then maybe there's a "Between Two Sagebrush" show on the horizon?

They weren't football-specific podcasts but I miss the Front Row Show and The Bangarang. Also Aggie Legends.

I've thought about doing something. I just don't know how interesting I am to listen to.

So, if @aggies22 doesn't think he would be interesting to listen to, get a color commentator. Get someone that would be good at getting the info we all want out of @aggies22 and can make it fun to listen to. This doesn't need to be a one-man-show.

The Aggship puts together a pretty good podcast. He's really analytical in his insight and coverage of the team. He may not be an Aggie lifer as he just moved to the valley, but he appears really prepared every time I listen and produces good work.

The Aggship exists. I pay for the lower tier of content, mostly because I'm trying to buck the stereotype of the extreme cheapskate Aggie fan. It's pretty decent content from Patrick Mayhorn.

I really like Patrick Mayhorn’s (Aggship’s) insights. The Aggship Twitter account has also been one of my most favorite accounts to follow. He could use an editor like Trevor Weller used to do for the Front Row Show to increase the production value of the podcast, but as mentioned: I’m sure that putting out a podcast for free isn’t easy.

KSL has recently reignited its Scotsman podcast about Aggie sports. It was originally started by Matt Glade, then went on a hiatus and now they have started producing episodes again with Brian Preece and Huu Tran.

It’s got good production value and Huu is a USU grad and major Aggie fan.

Who knows how long they’ll keep producing the podcast but I am sure getting a bunch of new subscribers will help keep it going.

I am biased because Huu, Matt, and I were all in the same program together and I consider them great friends. Also, I know they are strong Utah State advocates behind the scenes at KSL, which we all know is sorely needed. They’re also incredibly talented. So, go support their Aggie content whenever you get a chance.
