Didn't Jaydon Bailey already decommit from USU and commit to ASU? Why would USU spend precious recruiting funds on a guy that had already told them he doesn't want to play there?

Our remaining interested in the kid despite him de-committing should show him how genuinely interested we are. This is a tale that is old as time. He gets "advice" that he is having a killer season and he should de-commit because his commitment is holding him back from having the P5 offers start rolling in. He has one P5 offer (Arizona State), that staff is fired and the slew of P5 offers the "advisor" said were going to come pouring in don't materialize either. So now the question is, do you take the sure thing and reaffirm your commitment to Utah State OR wait until February which I'm sure will be his next nugget of "advice" and then he ends up at Incarnate Word, Stephen F. Austin or worse?

22' gives a lot more context, but in short, ASU's staff was let go. Who knows if the new staff will be interested in him?

I think it speaks volumes that recruiting is about relationships. Things like this give me a positive vibe that our coaches develop good relationships and that will pay dividends down the road for any potential transfers and such.

Has he been pushing other schools away? It seems odd he receives offers from us and Nebraska but then none from anywhere else? Not even the scavenger schools who usually offer after we do or smaller schools.

He has offers from Nebraska, utah, and Virginia.

Since Brohm quit and returned to Louisville, Montgomery had his trip last weekend to Purdue canceled. The not-so-great news is because he was stuck hanging around campus California came by and talked to him. He has a visit to Georgia State set up for this weekend.

Geez, hate to be negative but from my limited perspective seems like we've been striking out a lot based on the recent offers to FCS guys and less productive JUCO guys.

I almost feel bad for the staff. They've shown they can help kids produce. I'm surprised WRs especially aren't lining up to play here.

Id be very curious to know what opposing coaches say about USU, obviously we have had some turbulence as of late but you probably do some research on it before you commit so what are coaches saying after that are getting kids to reconsider their commitment? Or is it family asking them to reevaluate because it's "Utah". I do understand doing what's best for you and if he thinks this is best, then go for it but I'm always interested in the why.

Commitment no longer has meaning. Don’t commit unless you plan on sticking to your word.

This tells me all I need to know about the kid.
