Re: Damuni
I hate to say this but in our current defensive scheme who do you put on the bench to add Levani? MJ Tafisi or AJ Vongphachanh? And I would take Levani in a heartbeat if he called and was interested.

Re: Damuni
I agree but I honestly thing he’s better than both right now. I am not sure how their stats compare but to my untrained eye Damuni is better. Would be nice to add Depth but I doubt he would come to be second string.

Previous commit to the program at one time right?
Also strongly considered byu out of hs if I recall correctly.
BYU has an uncle I believe involved in the football program down there

Re: Damuni
I haven’t followed Stanford and vongphachanh probably has done great things I’ve missed.
But when he stood out to me it was often a missed tackle and a while ago it seemed he stood out for being out of position. Granted I don’t know if he even truly were as I don’t know all the intricacies.

Thought we were out of opportunities for Damuni children to not pick USU, but looks like we are getting at least one more.

I think Waqa specifically tells his kids to avoid USU lol jk but I’d be shocked if we landed him.

I’ve met Waqa. Really nice guy. I worry about his loyalty to Utah State, a lot. Seems like he doesnt help out w/recruiting as much. I wonder if he feels wronged. Maybe I’m wrong.

Re: Damuni
I think he does his job, well. The players like him. Graduation rates are awesome. I don’t know how much he helps with recruiting, and helping change perception of Utah State. Again, maybe I’m wrong. Someone closer to the situation might know more. His brother is HEAVILY. Involved with recruiting at BYU(that’s his job, but still, I think Waqa could play a similar role here). Maybe that’s just not who Waqa is. A little quiet, does his work in the back ground.ratofallaggies wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 2:31 pmYep, you're wrong.AggieGrad2021 wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 2:26 pmI’ve met Waqa. Really nice guy. Re: Damuni
I don't need to justify my response at all. I've known and associated with many that have been employed up at USU. I feel I have a good idea on those that are worth their salt and those that we don't need to worry about losing. But he does "help out" and he doesn't "feel wronged". When he was the Director of Football Ops, his job was more in the spotlight regarding recruiting as well as the performance of the football team. His job has changed, that isn't his place anymore.2004AG wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 2:51 pmWhat has he done, outside of his job, that shows such great loyalty to Utah State?ratofallaggies wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 2:31 pmYep, you're wrong.AggieGrad2021 wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 2:26 pmI’ve met Waqa. Re: Damuni
I believe his current role is a better role when you look at it professionally. But I agree with you that he does bring a lot of value to recruiting as a member of the coaching staff.AggieGrad2021 wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 3:08 pmratofallaggies wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 3:00 pmI don't need to justify my response at all. Re: Damuni
Recruiting doesn't have to be someone's "place" for them to try to encourage their own kids to go to Utah State, and someone doesn't even need to work in athletics to try to encourage their kids to come. A secretary for the biology department could try to convince their own kids to come to Utah State.ratofallaggies wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 3:00 pmI don't need to justify my response at all. Re: Damuni
You're right, you don't need to justify anything. Its a message board, you said he's loyal, I just asked what he does that makes him so awesome. It was just a simple question. But sure, no requirement to answer.ratofallaggies wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 3:00 pmI don't need to justify my response at all. I've known and associated with many that have been employed up at USU. I just think talk is cheap. I don't know him from Adam, but his actions don't strike me as someone loyal to Utah State. And by actions, I mean, any of his kids actually committing to and playing for Utah State. His relatives at byu certainly seem a lot more loyal to that program than he is to us.
My impression is that yes, he is good at his job, but its just that, a job. But that he doesn't have loyalty outside of that.
