Stanford’s Coach Calls it quits...

Post by Blue Sage » November 28th, 2022, 9:53 pm

Anytime an upstream coach especially western coach position opens up you wonder what dominos could fall next. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb ... r-AA14EK4B

Bronco Mendenhall would be a great fit for them football-wise. Not sure culturally for the rest of the University

Alright Levani. You've got your Stanford bachelors degree. Now come home and play LB in cache valley for your final season now that your beloved coach is gone.

Shaw did great the first several years but Stanford has been declining badly over the last 5 years. With the landscape vof college football not sure Stanford is in a great spot to be successful.

I'm not so sure. Lance Anderson was their head coach in waiting for a long time, and he is LDS. It will be interesting to see if he is a candidate for the job now that the program has declined for the past several years. But I definitely don't think Stanford is going to refuse to hire an LDS coach. I doubt Bronco is interested, but after what he accomplished at UVa (a school with similar academic constraints), I would give him a call if I were Stanford's AD.

Stanford isn't far enough away from the stench for them not to know what a fraud Bronco is. Figure it's why he went to the east coast in the first place. Just posing/acting like a HC won't work at the Farm.

Plus, a smart HC won't want to follow Shaw. He was a great coach. You want to follow the poor sap they're going to hire and probably fire in a year or 2.

That depends on the amount of money they are willing to dish out.

Stanford has $37.8 billion in endowments. It's not a money issue.

22 might have more insight but I imagine our chances of landing him are very slim. He’d be awesome to have with AJ, MJ(if he recovers) and our edge guys

Yeah, this has the southern swine written all over it. I'll believe a Damuni in an Aggie uniform when I see it.
