Notable OC out there
We should consider getting Scott Frost (he just got fired from Nebraska), but Frost was the OC and quarterbacks coach for Oregon from 2013-2015. I wonder if we can get him since his value has dropped in a big way from failing at the HC gig at Nebraska.
2013 Oregon scored more than 50 points in 6 games and over 40 points in 9 games.
2014 Oregon scored more than 50 points in 5 games and over 40 points in 12 games.
2015 Oregon scored more than 50 points in 4 games and over 40 points in 8 games.

Re: Notable OC out there
Frost will be in high demand. I'd be willing to bet he waits for the off season to see what is available.
There's no way Anderson will fire Tucker at this point, and frankly I think he deserves more time to improve. Although his seat should be getting a little warm.

I say we promote Chuckie. But that’s mostly based on me wanting him to be successful more than anything else.

I actually agree with this. Chuckie is a local star, from Texas, worked in the Big 12, PAC 12, and he has had success here.

Wait...
How did they score over 50 in 6 games, but over 40 in only 3?

Scott Frost is out of our budget and won't take anything less than a P5 position, whether it be as OC or a coach.

It definitely the topic got the ball rolling about the fact that we need to look for a new OC.

This is also something if BA steps down to explore. We have more money than before, so we can pay for more head coaches.

Re: Notable OC out there
Very possible, Chuckie has the Utah State star power, coached in the Big 12 and Pac 12, from the state of Texas, been in the NFL for a bit, been involved in recruiting, and has success coaching running backs. Quarterbacks becoming head coaches seemed to be pretty successful, and the last Aggie quarterback to be a head coach was Wells. Wells was successful here.Hoot wrote: ↑September 29th, 2022, 7:46 amNext HC???????aggies22 wrote: ↑September 29th, 2022, 7:23 amPlus, Chuckie has told me that he would LOVE to coach here for as long as he is able to.

Re: Notable OC out there
Chuckie is working up the ranks, and we have a running backs improving under Chuckie. I would not be surprised if he becomes a co-OC with our wide receivers coach next year or this year. This would be just short of being a head coach.2004AG wrote: ↑September 29th, 2022, 8:00 amChuckle has like one year of being an RB coach.SLB wrote:Very possible, Chuckie has the Utah State star power, coached in the Big 12 and Pac 12, from the state of Texas, been in the NFL for a bit, been involved in recruiting, and has success coaching running backs. Re: Notable OC out there
If the time were to come, he would absolutely jump at the chance. He has a brilliant offensive mind, charisma, and a love for Logan and Utah State. Once he's moved up the ranks I believe he is Head Coach material.Hoot wrote: ↑September 29th, 2022, 7:46 amNext HC???????aggies22 wrote: ↑September 29th, 2022, 7:23 amPlus, Chuckie has told me that he would LOVE to coach here for as long as he is able to.

I’m telling you guys though, Cefalo will be the next OC if Blake is the coach and Tucker leaves. Might as well give up the chuckle dream now.

Well, I had a lot of time on my hands recovering from health issues which seemed to be mostly solved at this point. I found that this thread so far has been very productive in topics because Tucker has failed so far this season with actual talent on offense.2004AG wrote: ↑September 29th, 2022, 9:42 amratofallaggies wrote:Why slow down now when the OP was about Scott Frost going from being the HC at Nebraska to the possible OC at USU? Re: Notable OC out there
I also think Chuckie is going to be an awesome coach. I just really want him to get some work under an experienced OC that runs something besides a simplified spread offense that is mostly just read options based. Given his career path so far I think he needs to get some other exposure to help truly maximize his abilities.
He's spent a lot of time under: Dave Baldwin, Kevin Mcgiven, David Yost, & Anthony Tucker.
That would worry me a bit for his play calling abilities & schemes. I just think some alternative perspective and styles would help ultimately help out his long term success.
