I went to school during the Brent Guy days. It was rough. I remember rushing the field when we won the WAC thinking we had peaked. After joining the MWC I never thought it was possible to win that trophy.

Before this season begins and we defend our title, I want to give one final shout out to the greatest season of aggie football I have ever witnessed. Thank you again to all those that made that happen. It was truly a privilege to witness it.

I hope big blue storms the field in 2 weeks (and 2 days) wearing that LA bowl belt.

You've missed out on a lot of bad football my Aggie brother. Haha!

I used to believe that the '93 season would be our acme. That was far better than any season in my life of following Aggie athletics. I NEVER would have believed we could be a top-25 team, at least not in my lifetime. The past dozen years of Aggie football have been a dream

Yeah, I thought that was our pinnacle.

The last 11 seasons have been unreal. Has to be the best run in school history? Right?

I’m willing to predict USU will make a NY6 bowl as the top G5 within the next 10 years

Mine too! The Denehey and Guy days were some painful years. They were also the years I was a student so I have vivid memories of the games in those years. I couldn’t be more thrilled with how things have improved since then. Go Aggies!

Mine too! The Denehey and Guy days were some painful years. They were also the years I was a student so I have vivid memories of the games in those years. I couldn’t be more thrilled with how things have improved since then. Go Aggies!

I was fortunate to attend USU during the John Ralston tenure. That was a great time to be an Aggie too!

It is great to see them improve so much. I was taking I was there during the Dennehy and Guy years. To see the culture palpably shift after that was amazing. I'm happy for GA (1.0 of course), Wells, and BA now.

We can all remember one of the great games in Aggie history that late night/early morning they were in Hawaii listening to one of the best college FB play by play (RIP) call the turnaround game. They would not be denied that night.

Side note. The pasting of BYU the year before that was also very enjoyable.

When the church lesson was on trials, I was thinking of how the Brent Guy years were a trial, but it made us all the more enjoy the recent success.

That'd be awesome. But it'd also be awesome just to keep our current tradition alive in the same form it exists now.

We've had two truly "bad" seasons in the last 11, 3 great seasons, and a whole lotta good seasons. It's been a fun ride. Hopefully it lasts awhile.

It really is incredible to have gone from one of the worst D1 programs to arguably one of the best G5 programs in the country.

I don't know how many programs have that one game, that one moment in time, when things changed for the program. That game was the pivot point for USU football. There have been bumps since then but the entire feel and attitude around the program was different after that night on the islands. It had been an enjoyable ride since.

I'm so glad I sat up half the night and watched that game all the way through!!

The last 12 years have been amazing! That is when things started to really feel different, even though the real hinge point was in the Hawaii game. We were excited and hopeful for Gary 1.0, we hung with Texas A&M in 2009 and in 2010 we were close to Oklahoma and beat BYU for the first time in forever. If you had told me in 2008 about the state of the program today, I wouldn't have believed it. I remember the Hawaii game in 2006, by halftime, the stadium had cleared out because it was cold and raining like crazy. There were probably only about 200 people left. The Aggies got killed, 63-10 and there was very little hope that the program would ever rise up to a level like we see today. I'm just enjoying the ride now. Those bad years are almost all but forgotten and only there to remind us where the program was and how good times are now. I feel another good season just a few weeks away. I'm excited to keep cheering them on!

Same here. Thinking to myself I should go to bed it is late. Then stayed up for one more series, then another and another until I watched us win.

I'm also in awe that we won 10+ games last year and still have the same coaching staff in place the very next year. Granted, that may not last for long if we ball out again haha. But it is really cool to have some sort of continuity for another year. I don't think I've ever been more excited for a season to start!!

I started going to Aggie football games with my dad in the 80’s as a kid. I went to school in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. Over the years I have seen plenty of bad football.

I was able to take my high school age son to the LA bowl. The GA and since years have been awesome!! What a ride it has been!!!

78-82. Some good years with some very good players, then flush for 30 plus years. Great time to be an Aggie.

Maybe I’m in the minority here but I watch every game to the bitter end no matter what. Even in all the bad years. I wasn’t about to not watch the second half of the Hawaii game regardless of the late night or the score!

I’ve said it twice tonight, but you’re a hell of an Aggie.

I was in the middle of my time at USU in 2006 when we didn't score an offensive point until the 5th game of the season and ended up 1-11 which included losses by 20 or more points to bluebloods Idaho and NMSU.

At that point it seemed more likely we would drop down to FCS (and probably be middle of the pack in the Big Sky) than a top 25 team in the near future. I did think we may have an odd year here or there where stars aligned and maybe we made a bowl game. Never dreamed we would have sustained success at this level.
