Bummer. Was looking forward to watching the team. Being from Iowa this isn’t very severe weather too me but I’m guessing they don’t want injuries with slick fields. And there will probably be some lightning.

I’m hoping 22 or some other media types were able to attend the indoor scrimmage and can give us some highlights and depth charts.

At 9:00 am before I left Farmington I checked and they had the tweet saying rain or shine they were still having the scrimmage. We got up there at 10:45 and then i read the tweet sent out at 10:00 am saying it was cancelled and moved to the indoors. At least I got to look at the new field and seats. I have to say the field looks really sharp and clean. There has been talk about the end zones not matching the font etc., but I really like the field design. It is very simple, but really sharp.

I left Bountiful at 9:30 so missed the updates. Nice drive to Logan anyway! I met one of our players' grandfather, who had driven up from Cedar City to watch him play. That's tough!

I know they moved to the indoor building, but does anybody know if they held a similar type scrimmage in there? I sure would love to see some highlights if they did. I know why they do it, but it does not make it any easier to stomach.

A legitimate scrimmage was held indoors.

I didn't realize media was allowed until 11:30. By the time I was given access it was 12:30. I caught the last 40 minutes or so.

In my defense, I don't remember it EVER raining during fall camp, so I was completely thrown off my game.

Any word on the seriousness of Cole Motes injured hand? He’s had a cast on it all week in the team videos and assume he didn’t play today as he wasn’t listed on the scrimmage two deep.

My family stayed for this weekend before heading home to Mexico to see the scrimmage. My 4 year old was devastated. The usu athletics insta and usu football players reached out after seeing a video of him upset that my wife posted to her story. Thought that was really nice.

People can say this and that but holy smokes DG from Nevada looks like a potential one and done to the NFL. DG beat OL who started for us last season for 10 tackles 7 TFLs 5 sacks 2 PBs, and DG gets to face inexperienced OTs in Alabama early in the season.

"Well, Daniel and Byron, they're so different in their pass rush moves and their builds, that it really forces me and Jacob to have great technique. They really stress our technique," Edwards said. "And, you know, in the Mountain West, I feel like we won't see much better defensive ends than those two, to be honest. So it's really good for us to get those looks."

I was surprised with the stats from DG as well. I do think him and Byron will cause some mismatches this year. Byron is not the biggest build but he is fast.

Very good chance he is cleared for Connecticut.

Isn’t the second oldest rule based on this same idea that if the defense isn’t winning the scrimmage at this point in the season they kinda suck?

I thought it was "the offense will always be ahead of the defense since the defense is just responding to the offense dictating the play at this point." Convenient to have both versions available!

Scrimmages are designed to generate familiarity for offenses and confidence for defenses. Anything else is probably an indication of a bad team.

Too bad we can't see how many sacks the first team vs second team Oline gave up along with total snaps overall. If there were 150 snaps, that number of sacks isn't horrible against a good defense. If it were 75, then that's not good. Could be even worse if it were 75 and there were 20+ tackles for loss. Even at 100 snaps, 20+ tackles for loss is not good.
