Is this the best Nick saban alabama team?
Let’s hope not! But I’ve seen a lot of people at least discussing it. They have a ton of talent. And the best is likely a defensive end and not a heisman returning qb.
Gonna be a fun day!
Gonna be a fun day!

They'll obviously be really good, but it would be tough to be better than their covid year team.

They are ripe! I hope they are reading all their press clippings. I smell Auburn 2011 all over again…..but hopefully without the last 2 minute meltdown.

Re: Is this the best Nick saban alabama team?
Auburn was a mediocre 7-5 team in 2011. Alabama is the consensus #1 team in the country with the best offensive player and defensive player from last year returning. They will rival 2019 LSU for being the best team USU has ever played.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑June 14th, 2022, 9:30 pmThey are ripe! I hope they are reading all their press clippings. Yeah yeah I know but I was just trying real hard to convince myself (and some other gullible Aggie fans) that we have a chance.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote:Auburn was a mediocre 7-5 team in 2011. Although I will say, Auburn was actually coming off a national championship and Alabama finished last season on a loss.

we should expect to play the worst team in the NFL! But that's saying something isn't it?

Hopefully Bonner doesn't get re-injured. Our line barely could protect him last year and we played nobody close to this team level.

Re: Is this the best Nick saban alabama team?
Agreed. This year's team may have a better defense than the 2020 team, but that 2020 offense with Mac Jones, Devontae Smith, Jaylen Waddle, and Najee Harris was really, really good. I re-watched the championship game against tOSU last week while I was out with the flu, and that offense was a lot of fun to watch and almost impossible to stop.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑June 14th, 2022, 9:23 pmThey'll obviously be really good, but it would be tough to be better than their covid year team.
Bama's biggest weakness this year will probably be their offensive line. Last year's OL was a mess up until the SEC Championship against UGA.

We are guaranteed to get impressive experience, hopefully we also don't sustain serious (season ending) injuries of critical players. It's a very steep hill to climb. Regardless of which set of Aggie Blue Goggles I try on all I seem to be able to hope for is we put up a stout fight and look good overall.

Isn't the next Alabama team always the best Alabama team? Let's be honest, they never really take a step back.

This seems to be the standard mantra for Alabama. The reality is they just seem to get better and better each year.

Re: Is this the best Nick saban alabama team?
My dad used to tell this story he heard when attending coaching clinics. He'd try to do one a year, and would travel all over the country. It seems Bear Bryant used to recruit 300-350 lb high school lineman and make them run and run and run and lift and lift and lift until he had nothing but 6-4 250 lb guys with six-packs and 20" biceps who could overpower and outfire and leave in their dust anyone and everyone they went up against.NavyBlueAggie wrote: ↑June 15th, 2022, 5:57 pmThis seems to be the standard mantra for Alabama. Nobody did it better.

I hope BA puts in Levi the second he feels 1) the game is out of reach, and/or 2) Bonner gets even a slight bit banged up. Levi has the stature and legs to cause Bama some headaches and would be a nice change of pace if our offense has trouble sustaining any drives with the less mobile Bonner.

As crazy as it is since they made the national title game, last year was a drop off for Alabama. Lost to A&M and had a bunch of close games against mediocre teams like Auburn in multiple overtimes.IBleedAggieBlue wrote: ↑June 15th, 2022, 5:29 pmIsn't the next Alabama team always the best Alabama team? Nah, we just have to make sure the backup TE is out along with a few players who have yet to play a down and then it will be an easy win.crazywookie wrote: ↑June 16th, 2022, 10:38 amOne can hope there's a mistake with the pre-game meal and they all get food poisoning and literally crap themselves

That's what worked with San Diego State last year even though their TE ended up being half their roster according to the announcers and SDSU fans.bwcrc wrote: ↑June 16th, 2022, 11:12 amNah, we just have to make sure the backup TE is out along with a few players who have yet to play a down and then it will be an easy win.crazywookie wrote: ↑June 16th, 2022, 10:38 amOne can hope there's a mistake with the pre-game meal and they all get food poisoning and literally crap themselves

There will forever be an asterisk by that Mountain West Championship in the SDSU history books. Easy to beat them when their intramural bowling team had to suit up to field enough players.frankiesaysrelax wrote: ↑June 16th, 2022, 11:14 amThat's what worked with San Diego State last year even though their TE ended up being half their roster according to the announcers and SDSU fans.bwcrc wrote: ↑June 16th, 2022, 11:12 amNah, we just have to make sure the backup TE is out along with a few players who have yet to play a down and then it will be an easy win.crazywookie wrote: ↑June 16th, 2022, 10:38 amOne can hope there's a mistake with the pre-game meal and they all get food poisoning and literally crap themselves

Re: Is this the best Nick saban alabama team?
As long as Bonner isn't dinged up, I would like him to get at least a few shots after the game is out of reach simply because he is the most capable of hard counting an Alabama guy into jumping offsides, then burning them with the free play after a few guys freeze waiting for the whistle, which would cause Nick Saban to explode!AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑June 15th, 2022, 7:55 pmI hope BA puts in Levi the second he feels 1) the game is out of reach, and/or 2) Bonner gets even a slight bit banged up. Re: Is this the best Nick saban alabama team?
I really enjoy the fact that in recent years the Aggies have beat the Asstechs self proclaimed best team ever in both football and basketball in games that mattered most. With the poundings we endured through most of the last decade or so from them I didn’t think we’d ever get to this point.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote:That was such an impressive win by USU. Is this the best Nick saban alabama team?
It was all tongue in cheek my friend. We all know Auburn 2011 was just a shell of it’s 2010 team but still it was a huge performance by the Aggies to go into the heart of SEC country and nearly steal one. Back we go in another couple months and though this Bama team is really really good (on paper), they are still a group of 18-22 year olds that are susceptible to overlooking us. One thing we have going for us is that BA is not a former assistant of Nicky Satan.GameFAQSAggie wrote:I never cease to be amazed at the people that think 2011 Auburn is anything close to 2022 Alabama.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑June 14th, 2022, 9:41 pmAuburn was a mediocre 7-5 team in 2011. I don't know, Nick Saban seems concerned about Texas A&M. For being the best team he ever had, he spends a lot of time talking about the Aggies. (It would be nice if it were the USU version of them.)
