Well, the most outlandish thing I can think of would be Chuckie Keeton to BYU.... :headscratch:
More realistically I would think Cefalo to anywhere P5.

This. You beat me to it, but I was going to say the same thing.

The only coach leaving that would really surprise me is Chuckie. Given that he leaves the only place that would really surprise me is BYU. Unless it's fcs or something like that.

If Chuckie leaves we a hosed. We only have goods seasons when he is in Logan.

I'm guessing Cefalo was given an offer he couldn't refuse. If not, it's bound to happen before long.

Cefalo going to a P5 coach whose job is relatively secure wouldn't be surprising, but maybe the surprise is he is willing to take the risk of going to a P5 coach on the hot seat and chance that he is either able to help the coach save his job, be retained by his successor, or at worst find another P5 job.

There could be a G5 school willing to up the ante for him, or that would take him as their OC.

BYU already has their 10 full time assistants. Utah OTOH has two openings.Their receivers position is filled, as our both their coordinator positions. They have an opening at running backs they could fill with Chuckie. They have someone with defensive ends for now, so they could take Al to do defensive tackles.

I just hope someone got offered an incredible opportunity they couldn’t pass up. Can’t fault a position coach/coordinator for taking care of themselves/family. If so, GOOD FOR THEM!

As long as it is not Blake I could stomach it. I really don't want to lose Banda, Tucker or Cefalo, but one of those 3 would be my guess.

This particular coach feels that way about this opportunity. It's just tough to see him go.

The timing is really bad as well. We are going to start spring practice in a few weeks so it would be nice to have the continuity going into spring ball. Considering the success i am actually surprised we did not see almost a full turnover in our coaching staff.

If it’s a surprise then I’m betting it’s not Cefalo… hopefully it’s not Jackson either. I could see Chuckie getting a bigger opportunity. Hope we hear who it is soon.

No. I think you'll see someone already on staff promoted to fill the vacancy. That's just my opinion.

What could happen is one of the analysts becoming a full time assistant then being replaced by Matt in their analyst position.

UTSA has already made a decision to promote two assistants to co-offensive coordinators.

Tennessee has an opening at receivers coach. The surprise could be that Tucker is leaving to just coach receivers and not be the OC. Or Tennessee could be taking Cefalo.

It's doubtful this is a big enough deal that this thread was created referring to this, but assistant strength coach Dalton Elliott went to BYU.
