What's your scale for interest level? In particular, I'm not quite sure whether COOL or LOW is better.

Neither cool nor low sound very promising. Also is Bobby Terrell the same as Isaac Terrell? And if he has no other offers, why is he not offered as a PWO instead of a scolership? And final question: When will USU athletics get into the NIL world (athletes getting paid)?

Cool is mild interest.
Low is little interest.

It's really early in the process so seeing a bunch of "cools" isn't a big deal.

I like a 6'2" safety with room to put on some mass. How good is Fjord supposed to be. Those are impressive numbers his senior year of high school.

What makes Bowen Fjord special is he has sprinter speed and can hit like a truck.

He will come in weighing at least 190. I would imagine they can put at least 10 pounds on him over the summer with a nutrition/weight training program. Couple that with sprinter speed hitting from a safety position, that can't be fun.

I wonder why his other schools of interest were not exactly blue blood schools (Western Texas State, Abiliene Christian, and the like)? Was it because he committed early and schools backed off? I think if a bigger school really wants a kid, they are going to keep recruiting him until the signature dries on the page.

Very under the radar. I think most schools thought he'd run track instead.

I did this interview with Bowen after he committed. He actually told me he was going to commit before he told the coaching staff.

Bobby Terrell is Isaac Terrell. Bobby has been offered a scholarship because our coaching staff found him good enough to offer one to. He was one of the top defensive players in the state for state champion Lehi. He had like 20+ sacks if I remember correctly.

I wouldn't count on USU doing anything on its end for getting athletes paid through the NIL. If anyone is going to make any money through the NIL it will be on an individual basis like you are seeing now.
Obviously without pads, but here is a little clip of Bobby. Watch the kid: use his hands, quick feet, shoulder dip, bull rush. - looks really sharp.

My guess? Cool means they haven't shown any specific interest yet but certainly still could. Low means they haven't shown any specific interest and are unlikely to do so.

Similar rushing style to Maxx Crosby.

Offered several idaho kids tonight. Kind of cool as there aren’t typically many d1 kids from the state.

A number of Idaho kids went on unofficial visits to Weber State and Utah State today. Some very talented players.

I think one of the things to remember about these "levels of interest" is that no kid is going to change his interest level in anybody from cool to something "warmer" until he has gotten all of the offers he thinks he's going to get, or he has a personal reason that he is really interested in a certain school. Otherwise, its to their advantage-- some say-- to stay as uncommited as possible (Cool) so as to not scare of any other potential suitors. One of the weird things about the way recruiting is done. I personally am tired of twitter posts saying, "I've just spoke with coach [insert name here] and I've just gotten my 15th FBS offer from BFE University." I say who cares. But for these kids, its all about creating buzz on their social media feeds.

Just saw a recruit on campus in a golf cart with one of the coaches. Looked like a cb, safety, or wr. Had a bit of an afro. Anyone know who it is? He was wearing a Knights nation sweatshirt.

Most likely an unofficial visit but I'll check. They have unofficials nearly everyday.

Just saw a recruit on campus in a golf cart with one of the coaches. Looked like a cb, safety, or wr. Had a bit of an afro. Anyone know who it is? He was wearing a Knights nation sweatshirt.
This is the dude that was on campus Friday and Saturday.

Jelani McLaughlin 6'1" 180 (247 3*) - Citrus Valley HS, CA
Offers from: Arizona, Colorado, Grambling St
Primary Recruiter: Micah James
Interest in USU: WARM

hopefully he's back home and not still here with this storm coming in. Cali kid on a recruiting trip to logan in a snow storm, may not be the right "environment" for him
Haha! He has gone home.

Meh...

If he was here during the off field "crap storm" of the past week, me thinks that casts more aspersions than any any actual weather pattern.

The proof will be in the pudding. This team needs to run out on the field with the mentality and toughness that were such a hallmark last year.

Put the Weber loss in the past and move forward into conference play with greater pride, determination, and effort and ALL pf this quickly fades away.

Can we run out on the field with a solid game plan and take control of UNLV and thump them, or are we still gonna be gritching and moaning and feelin sorry for outselves?

We get to decide.

I wish I could give more details here, but talked to a family member of much sought after recruit on that list and unless something major changes in the next day or two we are going to have a very pleasant surprise of an announcement. And he might be coming with a friend.

Thanks @aggies22 for all your hard work…love reading your great info!
