Just got word that Noa is gonna enter the portal! Such a huge loss for next years team…

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
Makes sense if he thinks he should be a starter. If Tyler stays healthy there’s just not that many reps for him with the crowded RB room.

Bummer. He's one injury away from being the starter

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
Holy damn, this is huge loss. Tyler is good but Noa was really the future and our best short yardage RB.
I believe his brother was a Senior at BSU but would have a super Senior year available. I hope we don't see yet another of our players end up at another MWC school.
I don't know what else he could want. He's already a major part of an 11-3 ranked team Is this perhaps due to some window shopping being done by a P5? I guess we'll find out. Maybe he sees what Jaylen Warren was able to do after leaving?

On twitter his brother was pretty pissed when he got benched after fumbling. I wonder if that played into it with the family.

Now was such a stud down the stretch and was one of the most improved players and certainly the breakthrough player on the team.

That sucks, he had a good year and would have been in position to have a good season this coming year.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
Best pass blocking back we have. Also, Tyler is injury prone. Also our strongest runner IMO. Noa is the best guy for the goal line and short yardage. Bummer

Transferring worked out for Jaylen Warren, and it worked out for Calvin Tyler. Hope he finds a good place

Maybe Coach Anderson can work some of his magic on him. He did convince Thompkins to back out after entering the portal.

Wow, this hurts. Noa started the year at #3 and by December was arguably the best back on the team. He has a chance to be a big contributor here.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
His brothers comments on Twitter all season don’t make this surprising. I was kind of thinking this was a large possibility. Absolute bummer for the team

What were his comments?
I find the timing odd. After the semester started. Did a team contact him maybe?

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
I saw his family at a couple of games. Not sure how you could miss them they really supported him. This would be a huge loss. I was hoping to see what he could do going forward.
This post is likely straight up poor sarcasm and cannot be taken seriously.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
Yeah I hate it too when my kid is the feature back on the last drive and wins the game.
Joking aside I was super excited for his future at USU, but it seems like he might have a “me first” mentality.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
If the "me first mentality" is necessary for a chance at a million dollar contract, then more power to a me first mentality. As far as I know he represented USU well while he was here and hope he finds success.FL350Aggie wrote: ↑January 24th, 2022, 9:11 pmYeah I hate it too when my kid is the feature back on the last drive and wins the game.

Yeah I agree, I’ll never fault any player that leaves. I understand the game that’s being played, even the ones that don’t make sense like this one.trevordude wrote: ↑January 24th, 2022, 9:15 pmIf the "me first mentality" is necessary for a chance at a million dollar contract, then more power to a me first mentality. I agree except for David Colette. I fault him. I can move forward but I also fault him.FL350Aggie wrote: ↑January 24th, 2022, 10:17 pmYeah I agree, I’ll never fault any player that leaves. I was friends with him. Our wives worked together. Ended pretty quickly tho. My wife says I'm unreasonable. Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
Mine is a most peaceable disposition. My wishes are: a humble cottage with a thatched roof, but a good bed, good food, the freshest milk and butter, flowers before my window, and a few fine trees before my door; and if God wants to make my happiness complete, he will grant me the joy of seeing some six or seven of my enemies hanging from those trees. Before death I shall, moved in my heart, forgive them all the wrong they did me in their lifetime. One must, it is true, forgive one's enemies-- but not before they have been hanged.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑January 24th, 2022, 10:33 pmI agree except for David Colette. I fault him. Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
So…uh… has Valladay from Wyoming landed anywhere yet?
Edit: looks like he landed at Arizona St.
I thought Noa was serviceable and sucks to see him go.
Tyler was head and shoulders better when healthy. Wasn’t particularly close. So I get it.
This is the position group we were most equipped to lose someone and still be fine. Don’t think this really changes much of anything for next season.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
Haven't heard otherwise. Actually thought Noa would stay and Gentry, who was pretty much out of the rotation by season's end, would hit the portal. I don't know anything.
Nobody here knows anything.

The weird thing is he would split carries with Tyler this year, and then he would be the main man his last two years.

For what it is worth this is still his twitter profile and pinned tweet. Obviously can change fast but not a bad sign that this is just a rumor.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
247sports only has USU with 5 that hit the portal thus far and Noa is not one of them. I'm not sure how quickly it is updated, but at this point I am still holding out hope that it is just a nasty, false rumor and Noa stays. His progress this season was awesome to watch and I think he can easily be the feature back next season if Tyler's injury issues are any indication. But together they are a dynamic 1-2 punch.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
What are the rules, if any, regrading schools poaching players? I.e., the Ewts reaching out to Noa and saying, "...I see you are sharing carries at a G5 school...you know with this transfer portal thingy majig, how about coming to a P5 school and competing for a starting job...?"
