Just a funny "Aggie" story
So I live in Texas (Utah born/raised U of U alum) and there is a Crumbl cookie place new in town. Probably spelled store name wrong - and sorry for the spelling error (and that my Aggie credentials aren't "pure" as Aggie Blue and fighting white). For what it's worth I have a son who just graduated from USU. Wife and daughter have been going crazy about the cookie place!
Anyway, there was a special cookie apparently called "Aggie Blue" a few weeks back. Story goes that while my wife was ordering said cookie ... a couple local Texans who were in the store looked at each other as if something didn't quite compute upstairs, and finally one of them said "ummm Aggies are red" ( you know Texas A & M). They all laughed for a minute as they discovered from my wife that there are in fact "Blue Aggies" in a place they had just not considered before. Congrats on a great season 'Aggies in Blue'.

The founder and owner of Crumbl cookies is an Aggie. Hopefully he's a big football fan because he's made an awful lot of money.

Sadly he isn't. But I think Blake Anderson and Hartwell becoming his best friends would be a very good thing.3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑January 12th, 2022, 10:19 amThe founder and owner of Crumbl cookies is an Aggie. Hopefully he's a big football fan because he's made an awful lot of money.

I still have about 20 of the Blue Mint cookies in my freezer. They're really good to pull out whenever I'm watching a game on TV. As for the owner, he seems to really care about USU but Crumbl's new ice cream is being made by BYU.

Re: Just a funny "Aggie" story
You gotta think the Crumbl folks are making some serious bank these days. Expanding like crazy. Opening one in my city next week. I’m sure folks anywhere east of Colo/NM will not associate blue with Aggies but I love the fact an Aggie alum is working on changing that!
On a side note, my wife and kids make me drive 20 minutes out of our way to hit up Crumbl Cookies during our summer vacation road trips (Sioux Falls & Billings this past summer). I’m nervous about what having a Crumbl in our own city is going to do to us.

Just saying. A big dry cookie yay!!! But then again I think Cafe Rio and Costa Vida suck but everyone else thinks it just good "authentic Mexican food" lol. The Doritos locos tacos are about as authentic as those two places.

Crumbl and chip are both really large really average cookies, but most people like that kind of thing as you alluded to. Average + lots of quantity is the formula for success with the general population. The superior cookie in Utah is Ruby Snap and it's not close.coolag wrote: ↑January 12th, 2022, 12:07 pmJust saying. I’m not sure about those other places but the rotating/changing menu at Crumbl is a genius business model. I’m sure they didn’t invent that business model but it has worked well for them and creates some weekly buzz.Madmartigan wrote:Crumbl and chip are both really large really average cookies, but most people like that kind of thing as you alluded to. Re: Just a funny "Aggie" story
If it wasn't in the past week then it wasn't byu either. For the initial run they were using another creamery called Rockwell Ice Cream. It didn't go well and honestly it's just not good ice cream...a step below byu in my opinion.

Perhaps USU Creamery doesn't have the capacity to produce enough for Crumbl's needs so they had to go with a second rate outfit.

I told this story a while back but it still works for the author of this post:
After Utah finished 2nd in the NCAA back about 20 year ago, I was flying home from the east coast and had a Utah State shirt on. A guy on the plane looks over at me and says, "Great job finishing second in the Dance."
To everybody in the east and elsewhere, Utah, Utah State-- we're the same school as far as they care.

The guy next to my wife said "what do you mean?"
He wasn't really very sharp.... he also later asked how we got our tickets.
I said Ticketmaster! Easy as pie.
He shrugged and said he didn't think tickets were available for purchase.
I did'nt bother asking how he got his, I just figured it wouldn't be fruitful

Re: Just a funny "Aggie" story
To be honest, I think Crumbl is way overpriced for me to go there with any frequency, but I did make an exception for the blue mint and think they nailed it as far as making a cookie/frosting that best approximated the ice cream.
