In honor of this week’s game …

Post by utaggies » October 18th, 2021, 12:29 pm

I’ll again share the link to my favorite Aggie play of all time. The call by the announcers added to its greatness.

Some of the best commentary in usu football history happens in the closing seconds of Colorado State games.

Just ask ScottyG.

I know that I am probably alone but the Colorado State game is the one I most look forward too. Weird stuff happens.

They are generally tough games. The last 2 times we played them the Aggies were huge favorites and one came down to the last play while the other one came down to Woodward making an awesome play.

The announcer in the second video 😂

First announcer- “I know the letter of the law says he was out, but it’s not like he was six feet out and came back in…”

Other announcer- “Well if he was out he was out.”

Great to watch these again. We can’t hope for finishes like this again. Need to win without theatrics.

On the flip side I seem to remember Turbin stretching a run from the 1 yard line all the way out of bounds. I believe it was either a 2 point conversion to win the game or something to force overtime. Probably the only time I was ever upset with a Turbin run, but I couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t just put his friggin head down and get in the daggum endzone.

Wasn't there a Michael Smith "fumble" (he was down) that CSU returned for a touchdown?

Who can forget literally the next time Turbin touched the ball after that when he broke the infamous 80 yard run against BYU on the first play of the game!

Given that this year the Aggies ONLY win with some theatrics, I can't imagine CSU will suddenly be the boring win. :joking:

Actually, I could see this being the boring win. That seems to be how it works. We should have completely destroyed them in 2018, yet it came down to the last play that we barely won by about 4 inches.
