PI

Post by travelingagg » October 2nd, 2021, 9:41 am

Getting the correct PI call on that opening drive would have given us momentum and put us in a position to score on that drive. It still probably wouldn't have been enough to change the game, but it's never fun to see a no-call.

Being that we got within one score late in the fourth I think that could have changed the game enough to secure an Aggie win. No for sure but I think it’s a toss up at that point.

The thing is, a quarterback with a better arm would have put it to where McGriff wouldn't have had to slow down running and it would have been a touchdown.

Agreed he had him and under threw it. The guy never looks back tho and appears to tackle him before he touched the ball. Still think it should have been PI

It was a horrible pass. But also still PI.

That particular ref was absolutely terrible all night. Missed the guy stepping way out of bounds, overrode a first down spot from the opposite side of the field, there were more that I can’t I can’t remember off the top of my head. Anderson was all over him all night

true -and he did it all night long. I think there was two passes where he hit a receiver in stride.

I wonder if there are some lingering issues from the cheap shot courtesy of #49 at Air Force. On that note, how many more cheap shots will that player or other players from the AFA think they now have license for. .

The missed call that got me was the block in the back in the 3rd QTR. Pauu totally drilled our guy in the back as Allgeier ran by and took it inside the 15yrd line.

The announcer said it was legal because he turned at the last second.

The announcers at half time printed out the ref didn’t know what a PI call was.

Honestly the throw was so bad, I'm fine with the no call. The receiver had to come back completely through the DB to make a play on the ball.

I agree, but I would say this has been called against us several times this year alone. I can think of a few times in the North Dakota game this exact thing happened with us on defense and they called PI. The inconsistency of the calling is what is frustrating, and I believe that sometimes Quarterbacks/teams use this type of "throw" because it gets called so often.

Definitely PI. They actually made a PI call against BYU on a very similar play on the other end of the field in the second half. Pretty much the same exact play.
