Carson Strong
A year or so ago I started on here that i thought Carson Strong from Nevada would be a better NFL quarterback than Zach Wilson. I was told in not so many words that i didn't know what i was talking about. Now i see that Strong is making his way up nick draft boards and some have him as the #1QB in the draft. Nevada has a fantastic duo with Strong and Doubbs. They lead a very formidable offense in Reno.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/new ... -11-picks/
For full disclosure, i also said I thought that Starkel from SJSU would also be a better NFL quarterback than Wilson. That prediction may not pan out. But he is a very good QB.

Re: Carson Strong
Because of the SLC media there is a bias here in the wrong direction. Those of us who live out of state know how biased it is towards those two teams and how that bias is incorrect more often than not.

Re: Carson Strong
KSL pretty much keeps a log of everything Wilson does all day. They probably know how many times he takes a dump every day. They then report it to their Cougar masses who eat it up.

Re: Carson Strong
It's worse than that. I had corrected a poster, during the Maile situation who was slamming on USU on the D-news site. Wasn't rude (I'd own it if I was) just let them know they don't know all the facts and what they were saying was inaccurate. I got blocked. I sent an email to them explaining the inaccuracies and how inflammatory the comments were. Nothing. Original comment stayed, mine stayed removed.
Go Aggies!

Re: Carson Strong
Zach Wilson is very good. I'll give him that. He went to a QB graveyard though. If he's good enough to turn the Jets around, that'll really be something.
Regardless, Jordan Love could lead Green Bay to 3 straight Super Bowls and still get less local press than Zach Wilson will get for every TD he throws.

Re: Carson Strong
What? That'd be like saying some random y athlete (Jimmer) would get more local press for what he did in China over a non-y athlete (Damian Lillard) who's a hall-of-famer and Olympic champion. Or some journeyman from the y (Van Noy) getting more local press coverage and respect than a legendary collegian and pro (BWagz) who attended a better in-state school. That wouldn't ever happen, would it?3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑September 14th, 2021, 9:15 amZach Wilson is very good. I'll give him that. He went to a QB graveyard though. I think we dodge a bullet by not having Nevada on the schedule this year. At least not until the conference championship game.YoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑September 14th, 2021, 8:43 amLooking forward to getting this argument resolved in 10 years so Yossarian can have some closure.

UNLV, Hawaii and San Jose State is probably the most favorable crossover games we could have this season.Yossarian wrote: ↑September 14th, 2021, 10:26 amI think we dodge a bullet by not having Nevada on the schedule this year. Re: Carson Strong
Totally. Kyle Van Noy isn't rated in this top 32 list of NFL linebackers in 2021, while Bobby Wagner is ranked #1. It's a good comparison because they both entered the league in 2014, and they were both picked in round 2:cdaAg wrote: ↑September 14th, 2021, 9:24 amWhat? It's completely insane that our local UTAH media ignores athletes from UTAH State University who are huge names relative to lesser-known names who went to Byu. Something is incredibly wrong with this picture.

Pretty crazy when you write it all out like that. But that’s exactly what they’ve done. I can’t pay attention to Utah sports media, no point.
