6'5 285 is undersized? Me be, but I'm thinking not so much, and this guy's got three for three.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

He's listed as 6'4" and 265 on Iowa Western's site here: https://www.goreivers.com/sports/fball/ ... alvin_d1ow

Whether he's 265 or 285, he'd likely get pushed around a lot more than some of our heavier linemen.

Yes, I think anyone below 6'4" and 305 on the OL is undersized. O-lines in college and the NFL are getting taller and bigger.

This article outlines the 2020 biggest 25 O-lines: https://crescentcitysports.com/size-mat ... n-of-2020/

1 Minnesota 6’6.2″ 340 lbs
2 LSU 6’6 331.8
3 Oklahoma 6’5.4″ 331.6
4 Alabama 6’5.2″ 326.2
5 Oregon 6’5.6″ 325.8
6 Washington 6’5.4″ 325
7 Indiana 6’5 321.8
8 Tennessee 6’5 321.8
9 Florida 6’4.8″ 321.8
10 Marshall 6’4.6″ 321.6
11 Georgia 6’4.4″ 321
12 Tulsa 6’3.8″ 320.4
13 North Carolina 6’5 320
14 Oklahoma State 6’5 320
15 Kentucky 6’5.2″ 319.6
16 South Florida 6’4.4″ 319
17 West Va. 6’3.8″ 318.4
18 Ole Miss 6’3.8″ 318.2

He brings much needed depth to the offensive line. I think he'll likely end up at guard.

They will put 20 lbs. on him without even trying.

Especially since he'll be here next week.

Too bad he's going to be apart from the program when he could be a part of it.

I like this guy. Nice article about him in the HJ. check it out in the news section. Insert your own campus weight gain story here.

Some posters here questioning our OL? Anderson must be reading. He immediately brings in an OLineman

We were always going to be bringing in multiple OL. I would expect at least one more. We've lost basically the equivalent of a good entire starting OL in the past year to transfers/players leaving the team.

I've said somewhere in one of these threads that the staff is hoping to add one more JuCo/transfer offensive lineman prior to the summer program beginning.

In recent years I have seen a lot of confusion between “a part” and “apart” alot moreso I’d of hoped hell join the team not separate there from.

This also reminds me of something I heard last week from someone in the athletics department. He told me the real reason that KVNU lost the radio contract. It boiled down to Al Lewis being too emotionally invested in what the Aggies were doing on the field and focusing on which penalties were or were not being called. Al just cared too much.

About four years ago, the Aggies lost a home game after Wells elected to punt the ball late in the game on fourth and short yardage. The next week, the Aggies were again struggling due to questionable play calling. Al Lewis was noticeably upset about the situation. Moreover, Craig Hislop brought a previous year’s press guide, so Craig was giving Al bad information about which players were wearing various jersey numbers, which really got to Al.

The real trouble started when the Aggies lost the ball near the goal line on a play where the ground clearly caused the fumble. Al didn’t even know which player turned the ball over.

I guess a scuffle broke out between Craig and Al. John Hartwell heard the commotion and he and Shawn Harrison had to physically escort Al from the press box.

At that point, Al yelled at Craig, “What did you bring that press guide that I didn’t want to be read to out of up for?'"

Hartwell then told both Hislop and the Big Silk, “This is the sort of unprofessionalism up with which I will not put.”

According to my source, the last thing Al was heard saying as he was dragged down the hall was, “Shawn, wouldn't the e-mail that you sent to your editor last week with the subject line 'I want to put a hyphen between the words Fourth and And and And and Two in my Fourth-And-Two headline' have been more effective if quotation marks had been placed before Fourth, and between Fourth and and, and and and And, and And and and, and and and And, and And and and, and and and Two, as well as after Two?”

Hey 22, any chance this is a grandson of Tony Knapp, former USU head football in the 60’s?

He is from Wisconsin. I would assume that is likely a no.

In reading about this kid, he's played D-end. I believe he's rather athletic and agile on his feet. I'd take someone who can move their feet and very mobile than a lug at 315 that is slower. Time will tell how he stacks up. I thought it was a good sign.
