New transfer DB from Michigan
I believe he’s coming as a Safety, but is a versatile player. He was originally a walk on at Michigan (not sure if he ended up on scholarship) but he did get playing time & tackles this past season. He has two years eligibility remaining.
I would suspect we’re not done adding DB’s from the transfer portal either.

Re: New DB
I have to admit, I googled him and saw the headline "Hunter Reynolds leads Big Ten" before it cut off and was excited thinking we are getting someone who led the Big Ten in interceptions or something. Then was disappointed that it was some Unity proposal he was leading.

It seems to me This should be the 2nd page of the recruiters “PowerPoint”. (Whatever is used).aggies22 wrote: ↑April 17th, 2021, 12:08 pmHunter Reynolds 6'0" 190 - DB - University of Michigan

“Players make plays” is true. Therefore “Players who play, make plays”. Therefore “players who play a lot make a lot of plays”
“Players who play get better”
“Players who play a lot get a lot better”
So come to a program that maximizes your chance to play... a lot... and you can be the next Bobby Wagner.
So why wouldn’t/doesn’t this work to get a few more higher rated recruits?
(Assumption is that there are a lot of 4 star recruits that might not get enough time to blossom at blue chip programs).

If we are looking still for a transfer defensive backs then here is a guy. Former JC Kansas guy that went to alabama. Perhaps our coaches already have a connection.

Impressed with Coach Anderson so far considering how empty the cupboard was when he got here, especially recruiting wise. He really had no choice but to try and snag some from the transfer portal. So far he's got Michigan, Miami, Texas, Kansas, Oregon State and some of the decent players from Ark St. Still a lot of work to do but I'm liking what I see.

Not to nit pick, but one of the decent players from Arkansas state was the mw defensive preseason player of the year. Don’t underestimate those guys.

We definitely need some more OL depth but I also wouldn’t mind getting the Bucknell WR (Brandon Sanders). 2x 1st team All-Patriot league WR and has 2 years of eligibility left.slcagg wrote:Offering a bunch of jc and fcs transfer oline guys today.

Re: New transfer DB from Michigan
We're clearly trying to add another impactful WR, which I'm glad to see. Based off recruiting I think you'll see us add these transfers before the season 2 OL's, 2 DB's (Safety, CB, or Stryker), 1 DL, and & 1 WR.

1. Kobe Hylton DB/Stryker
2. Calvin Knapp OL
3. Jamie Nance WR
4. (Mystery Commit) DL (Credit @aggies22)
Those were the exact positions I thought we needed & now leaves 1 OL and 1 DB I still expect us to add. I also think this staff will still be optimistic on adding any other key piece they can.

I think you'll see us add one more offensive lineman in the next two weeks. We would have taken Demarcus Griffin-Taylor had he not chosen Houston. I don't believe we're still in the market for another defensive back BUT we won't turn away a difference maker either.slcagg wrote: ↑May 25th, 2021, 12:49 pmTotally revamped roster. Side note, can we get rid of those dopey stripes on our uniforms this season? Are we rolling out the same kits again this year? I think it's time for a re-design; wash the stink off of last year. Thoughts?

Not that my vote counts but if I had one it would be to roll with new uniforms this season as well. We desperately need them in hoops this coming season too.
I just like the idea of new coaching staff, new attitude, new feel, new look....

Agreed on all fronts. I liked the newer basketball uniforms initially, but I agree it is time for a change. The football uniforms haven’t been good since 2012.
