Utah state is ranked 120 in the FPI. Yikes. No where to go but up.

Nice bulletin board material to motivate the troops. I expect we will greatly outperform that placement.

I'm going to guess that you should take USU to cover a lot of the spreads for the first half of the season while the general public lags behind based on last season.

I'm not at all surprised by this. It doesn't matter to me really. I'll see what happens on the field this fall. I'm looking forward to being back in Maverik Stadium....here's hoping that COVID tails off in Utah so we can have a lot of folks in attendance. It's going to be a fun season!

I don’t have any expectations this year. We’ll see what happens. GA was an absolute trainwreck of a hire and basically reset the program to where it was when he took over the first time.

BA deserves our patience.

Honestly the whole Mountain West is looking poor on this index.

I'm really surprised that FPI has NM going 5.5-6.5 I didn't realize that they had a favorable schedule this year as well.

The FPI is very overrated, especially when they know absolutely nothing to start the season.

The Mountain West is 5 best out of the group of 5. The league has a long way to go!

ESPN's BPI and FPI are based on a statistical model designed and managed by a BYU graduate. Keep that in mind when feeling good or bad about how we are ranked. Before this year was published, he called me to gleefully tell me how poorly USU is ranked, hoping that I would argue with his precious "model." I would not suggest we should be rated higher based upon last year, but I don't need a Zoob to tell me about it.

Oh my. Are you serious!? Don’t worry I have a feeling that his precious prediction won’t age well.

You could make a strong argument that it was in worse shape.

We have some great talent on this team. It is loaded, compared to what we've had in the past. If these players buy into the system and give it their all, we will be over .500 and play in a bowl. Organizing and utilizing the talent will be the key. I believe BA can do it.

pretty sure evil rider is a troll

not at all sure of, but more amused by, the idea that it's rAggie (evil rider - riding - trains - midnight aggie? idk, made me chuckle.)

i mean seriously -- what are the odds the BPI is just a ploy by a byu grad to stick it to us and then privately cackled at to a brand new person with like 4 posts?

Just ask him how is feeling after losing to the mighty Coastal Carolina.

I get it. New account. No posting history. I am no sock puppet, though. Troll, ummm, I don't know? Just decided it would be fun to engage on the board after decades of lurking on this board and its predecessor back in the Big West days. I present the link below in support of my earlier post. https://www.sloansportsconference.com/people/paul-sabin
