I may not post a depth chart this week. This list of players missing time might be longer than the ones that aren't. Especially on the defensive side.

My notes from practice today.
-We have 4 healthy corners. One I believe was oakley hussey and it was his first practice at that position.
-Cooper Legas got one series with the 1s. He did fine, no better than Peasley.
-The transfer O-Line got some reps with the 1s at LG and RG.
-Derrick Wright practiced after hurting his ankle in the scrimmage.
-Jordan Nathan was back out running drills.
-Marcus Moore seems to be settling as a starter on the inside of the D-Line.
-Maddox played a few series with the 1s.
-As 22 said, their are a lot of injured players right now. But I think most of those are just precautions.

The ones on D are essentially the 2s right now.

Also, if Legas looked fine with the 1s, that is better than Peasley.

Love getting the reports. Can't wait to be in Maverik in the fall, I hope!

Based on what I have seen both QB’s are missing wide open targets. Some of that could be due to be offense. Bonner will read the defense day 1 and we have plenty of playmakers at WR to make plays.

Peasley missed 3 wide open TD on lack of reading the D. Both QB’s just need to keep working. This offense will hum with Bonner at the helm!

Yes. I should add that none of the injured players seem to have sustained injuries that would affect summer training and fall camp.

This is 100% correct. I always scratch my head when I read reports on here of the QB's playing well because every time I watch, they really struggle with their arm. The thing Peasley & Legas both have going for them is they are both awesome athletes. So in a real game they do offer that dynamic.

It is putting a lot of hope on Bonner though. Hopefully he can be healthy and it'll work out.

Any word on how Bonner is progressing? Will he be ready to do drills with the receivers during the summer in order to build that chemistry?

Recovery is going as expected. Will be ready for summer. At least that’s what I am hearing.

Any chance the coaching staff goes after a solid QB for a backup? Cause Peasley was making some poor decisions (in my opinion) on throws on Saturday. The others didn't really impress me much either. It just seems like passes aren't quick enough.

This is really confusing. Half of you are raving about Legas, and the other half aren’t that impressed.
Who are we to believe? I have seldom seen such a divide on a player. Flip a coin?

Speaking only for myself, I have only sat in the stands and watched. I'm not a QB coach or any kind of expert at all. I was likely the worst QB in history in high school. So don't take my opinion for anything!

You are one up on me. My freshman year at USU in 1966-67, They had an intramural flag football league. I was the qb for my dorm team. We were 1st place and I was the mvp of our team. Games played on the quad and the noth lawn of the “Morm dorms”.

Neither has lit the world on fire. I do think after last Saturdays showing that Coop has moved ahead of Peasley.

Did Crew Wakely play at the quarterback position? Or as a safety? Or did he play at all?

Wakely is back to safety. We are running out of healthy bodies.

I will second this. Tho 22 doesn't need it.
I've been to every practice open to the public. Neither has been great, but I think cooper is a more accurate QB. Peasley has made a few nice throws (had about a 50 bomb to Mcgriff yesterday that went for a TD then hit Bowling on the next play for about a 20 yard gain), but overall he is too inconsistent and misses too many easy throws. Legas has seemed more consistent in drills and while playing. Maybe I favor Legas because I haven't seen him in a game.

I was also at the scrimmage on Saturday and I'll give my 2 cents.....

Both Peasley and Legas had good and bad moments. Legas definitely looked like he had more energy. I think the difference may be that Peasley looks about the same compared to the last couple of years where Legas has definitely improved from last year. Honestly I'm still hoping that Bonner is clearly better than both. Time will tell.

I was very excited about Peasley when he beat New Mexico last year. That quickly wore off after each game and each throw.
