Article on Coach Anderson by The Athletic
This is a fantastic article worth reading. I'm not going to paste the content here because I want the person who took the time to write this USU related article to get adequately compensated & clicks for doing so.

Re: Article on Coach Anderson by The Athletic
Thanks for posting. Looks like it would be an awesome read.
I'd love to read it except that it's behind a paywall and as much as I appreciate the sentiment of this author getting the clicks and reads he deserves, it's just not worth it to me to spend the extra $5 to read that one article.
Am I the only one that can't access? Is there more that we haven't heard already?

It's a paywall, but the Athletic is very good above and beyond the one article in question.

I am with you brother. This site wants money, the HJ wants money, ESPN wants money. A lot of these kinds of sites want money. We are being nickeled and dimed to death. I know they have to survive , so go get more advertisers.ShowMeAggie wrote: ↑February 10th, 2021, 12:35 pmThanks for posting. Looks like it would be an awesome read.

The Athletic has sales all the time. I got a year for a dollar a month. It's definitely worth that just for Tony Jones' jazz coverage.

Re: Article on Coach Anderson by The Athletic
It was a great hire that reminds me of when we landed a good coach from Colorado State in 1998. That might have been the best hire in USU history not just because of what Stew accomplished, but how we got a successful coach in a better league to come to USU. Hopefully this hire will have similar results to what Stew produced.

Re: Article on Coach Anderson by The Athletic
Completely agree, I looked at the subscription one day and then later (same day) had the offer for a $12/year. I know the direct advertising freaks people out sometimes...QuackAttackAggie wrote:The Athletic has sales all the time. I got a year for a dollar a month. But the subscription is well worth it. And if you find yourself wanting to read this article so badly I'd encourage you to sign up.
I miss Tony Jones...

If you follow the Jazz, Tony Jones articles are worth it alone. He has had 2 amazing articles about Jazz and Rudy & Donovan’s relationship. Both were must reads in the last week.

It wasn't an attack on you. It was an explanation of revenue models.mcaggie1 wrote: ↑February 11th, 2021, 11:56 amI don’t live in the Facebook world at all. Very seldom on that site. 1) Pay for use
2) Mine information and sell the data to 3rd party's
Facebook or the Athletic or whatever else, we get the choice. If you prefer the second, good on you. I prefer the 1st.

This is accurate. You are either paying for a product, or you are the product. Google doesn't produce results out of altruism.Sl7vk wrote: ↑February 11th, 2021, 12:06 pmIt wasn't an attack on you. Re: Article on Coach Anderson by The Athletic
I get it. Thanks. I am still living in the past where revenues to publishers were obtained thru advertising budgets. That still exists, but obviously not used by some.....or maybe a lot. So the advertising model still exists. You just excluded it from your discussion.Sl7vk wrote: ↑February 11th, 2021, 12:06 pmIt wasn't an attack on you. Hate to break it to you, even if it is a pay site, they are still selling your information. You have a mobile phone and an internet provider, "they" already know everything about you and are selling everything they can.Sl7vk wrote: ↑February 10th, 2021, 1:06 pmHorses for courses I guess.mcaggie1 wrote: ↑February 10th, 2021, 12:52 pmI am with you brother. If any of you want a free month of access, I can give it to you. I have 4 free month passes left. They'll be given out on a first come basis. Just send me your email. You can peruse the site and see if it would be worth it. I love it for all the aforementioned reasons. I don't always agree with Tony Jones, but he loves the Jazz, is an excellent writer and is generally fair in his Jazz assessments. So, that being said, send me your email, and I'll send you a free pass which will be good for a month.
