I think he has a brother that coaches there as well.

What a fall from a respected LBs coach at Utah (where he had some very good LBs) to the LBs coach at eastern washington. Only took 2 years too.

Coaching seems like a video game sometimes. You win a level you move up, you lose a level you have to start at a lesser spot and have to work your way up again.

I was never very impressed with his work at USU. Started as DC where he failed then moved to linebackers where he also failed. One of GA's worst hires.

No offense but there’s more to the story. I think he had some tough things outside of football that contributed a lot to his lack of success as a coach while here.

Was there anything that was impressive about Gary's second stint at USU? I guess our win at San Diego State was fun.

I know it wasn’t a hiring decision, but the whole Jason Shelley situation was far worse and is the second biggest boner I have ever seen.

The way you explained that made me equate coaching Hindu reincarnation. Do well enough and get reincarnation in a better spot until you reach nirvana and get reincarnated as Nick Saban. Do bad enough and you wake up one day as a GeoDuck whatever that is.

John L Smith is a good example of this. First Head Coaching job was at Idaho and worked his way up to Michigan State yet ended up finishing his coaching career getting fired after going 0-10 at D2 Kentucky State.

Um, Jerome Dennis was actually a productive player on the field. Yeah, he did have an off the field incident, but so have a number of other players since his time.
