I think I have my Aggie blue goggles on... but, that’s an impressive list to me.

So it looks like Maile has inked with us then?
Great signing, and I'm a little surprised it came to fruition.

His only other D1 offer was BYU according to 247. If those were my two choices

That's an awfully nice list given the state of the program a couple months ago.

Re: 2021 Utah State Football Signing Day Central (February)
So technically we have 12 3* recruits/transfers with a few 2* sprinkled in. If USU is generally a 3* recruit type school then that's pretty good. I have no illusions getting a ton of 4* recruits. BYU generally gets only 3* recruits with an occasional 4*. Utah gets a few 4* recruits every year but again most of their class is 3* recruits.

Re: 2021 Utah State Football Signing Day Central (February)
That's a long list of impressive transfers, which we really need with the current state of the program. Let's hope the leadership kicks in and we can compete next year, but I think all of our expectations are a slow re-build. If we are competitive right out of the gate, I will be shocked and will want Anderson to stick around forever.

Does this affect our depth in the long run with so many transfers?

Re: 2021 Utah State Football Signing Day Central (February)
What I think we've done well with the transfer is we have added 5 guys that are seniors, 4 that are juniors and 2 that are sophomores. That spreads things out really well and still offers us some room to have a good number of 2022 signings.

Re: 2021 Utah State Football Signing Day Central (February)
It is sarcastic for sure. I don't know what the rankings will show, but I think that is a decent class considering all factors. I believe the transfers will actually help balance everything.
Re: 2021 Utah State Football Signing Day Central (February)
Can someone explain the push forwards?
Does that mean they don’t count toward our scholarship total for this year (upcoming season) but a year after they leave school, it’ll count?

I think an argument can be made that having junior and senior laden rosters with players that would not sign with us out of high school, been in weight programs, and have experience, could possibly be much better for USU than building a program on the level of HS player we can sign. That is especially true this year based on our needs, the number of players in the portal, not having to sit out a year (non-grad transfers), and having a new coaching staff.
I'm extremely pleased with the transfers. I also think we should be heavy in the transfer market from here on out.

I never heard back from him and he was never announced so that leads me to believe that we parted ways with him as well. It's not a huge loss.

"Push forwards" or "blue shirts" allow you to sign a player (typically high school) now and then put them on scholarship beginning August 1st of the new school year. That will allow you to count them toward the 2022 signing class.

Re: 2021 Utah State Football Signing Day Central (February)
I watched the live stream on FB where Coach A talked about the new incoming players and then intro'd his coaching staff.
I'm not qualified to comment on the players themselves, obviously, but I was very impressed with the recruiting strategy, the intended culture for the program and the passion of the leaders. There seems to be a good camaraderie within the group (as you would expect).
In the short time since Coach A's appointment great strides have been taken.
Of course, we have a long wait to see how it all translates to on-field performance but I was left with a very strong feeling that the Aggies are in good hands.

Re: 2021 Utah State Football Signing Day Central (February)
One aspect which seems very important is that 15 of the 19 newbies are already on campus (and some struggling with Logan's altitude, according to Coach A)!!
This must be a tremendous benefit for relationship building, fitness and developing an in-depth understanding of the new game plan.

Disappointed that Alabama got the top ranked recruiting class over us. Just more fuel for this year's Aggie class to prove them wrong when we visit Tuscaloosa in two years.

My take on the class:
Held serve offensively.
Improved dramatically defensively.

Re: 2021 Utah State Football Signing Day Central (February)
I think the staff did a great job of filling positions of need for the most part. My positions of concern for next season were DT, DE, LB, RB, OL, WR, CB and Safety. They got us immediate help in most all of those positions. My biggest remaining concerns are WR and Safety. I think we have enough bodies in the secondary that a few of those guys can be versatile and provide some depth at Safety. Love the "use all the grass and use all the weapons" philosophy of Coach BA/Tucker but I think we are a little low on wideout weapons. We have some awesome smurfs (DT, Nathan, Bowling) but really need a few more game changing outside receivers. I think McGriff, Wright, Savon, and even Patrick will be serviceable but I hope the staff can pull in another seasoned game changing WR to play on the outside.
Excited for spring ball so we can get some progress reports! Bummer that Bonner broke his foot and may be out for much of Spring ball though.
