Re: Brandon Bowling
I like it from the perspective of getting someone in here that knows the system and can help in the WR room in getting them up to speed. Not sure he changes the direction of the roster at all, one way or the other.

I wonder what JN16 thinks of the jersey number here:
https://www.rotoworld.com/college-footb ... on-bowling
Do you think maybe that's an 18?

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

WR Transfer from ASU - Brandon Bowling

Now we need a few more outside WR's that have some jets.

Re: Brandon Bowling
Bowling was #16 at Arky State so I'm sure that's probably what is in the commitment pic...although it does look like an 8. I'm sure they'll work it out. I'd think JN would get to keep 16 if he wants it.USU78 wrote: ↑January 4th, 2021, 11:02 amhttps://247sports.com/player/brandon-bowling-78385/

Should note that Brandon was all Sunbelt honorable mention this season. He, Jordan Nathan, and Thompkins will really provide some good reliable experience. I'd like to see Wright come back and see Ajani, McGriff, and Patrick take some steps forward. We have some nice pieces but would like to see us sign an outside burner or two as fast as Scarver but with better hands.

If Cefalo is as good as the Ark St. fans say he is, we are going to see some massive improvements in the WR play. Apparently, he is great at getting his WRs to be aggressive.

Brandon doesn’t care what number he wears! He is thrilled to be at USU and is excited about what can be accomplished in short order. I think USU fans will love his attitude. He is a hard worker and team player.
Of course I am biased being his Dad! We will be at every game and Logan is a long way from Atlanta!
Thanks for the warm welcome! Go Aggies!

Great to have another Aggie parent on the board. We appreciate you letting us borrow your son for awhile! Seems like a hard worker with plenty of talent and a great attitude....just the kind of player that Utah State has used to achieve success in the past.

Welcome to the board. I hope you enjoy it. I'm excited to see your son play for the Aggies next year. He seems like he's a solid receiver and should be successful. I really like the slot receivers we have on this team between your son, Jordan Nathan, and Devin Tompkins that is a really solid group and should be very successful next year.KoryBowling wrote: ↑January 5th, 2021, 7:50 pmBrandon doesn’t care what number he wears! Wow! Thanks for all of the “welcomes”!!
I’m probably tougher on him than most of you will be. The Astate boards can be tough as well.
I’d be happy to give any thoughts or opinions fir any questions you guys or gals may have about our time with the coaches at Astate!
Excited for 2021!

Re: Brandon Bowling
Unless we pick up up a transfer wr or two, I think McGriff will be our go to wr, especially inside the red zone. The further away from the end zone we are it will be JN and Thompkins....heavy on JN. It looks like Bowling will also be a force to be reckoned with. He looks solid. Really solid.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑January 4th, 2021, 11:23 amBowling was #16 at Arky State so I'm sure that's probably what is in the commitment pic...although it does look like an 8. I'm encouraged that an AState receiver has chosen to come here after learning that Bonner was coming.
As the father of a receiver, what do you think of Logan Bonner's game?

Re: Brandon Bowling
I think you will be very happy with him. Lots of zip on the ball. He’s very much a gunslinger and that was being pulled away from him under OC at Astate. Can make all the throws and can read the D and check down very quickly. He is not afraid to put it in a tight window or to a spot once the trust is there with the WR’s.
This offense won’t look anything like last years in Jonesboro.
A good look at what he will look like is not this past year where they split. Go and look at SMU & UNLV from 2019. Any of the first 4 games. They are all on YouTube.
I know that he feels a weight has been lifted and I suspect he will be playing with a large chip on his shoulder.

One more question. Our qb who finished the season didn’t really have a chance to show off his passing game, but oh how he can run. He gets in the open, and can outrun most dbacks. But he hasn’t shown as yet a “gunslinger” mentality. Question is...can Bonner run?
One more. It says on the short bio that your son is from McKinney, Tx. Is that where he grew up? I have a son who lives in East Plano. We love that area from Plano to Allen to McKinney. We were just in McKinney at day 1 of the Christmas Festival ..one of our favorite things to do. And that stadium in Allen. Wow!

Bonner can run when he needs to but prefers to throw it. They rarely put run plays for him in the RPO package. I think he can be an effective runner.mcaggie1 wrote:Thanks for the info on Bonner. We are from Atlanta. We moved to McKinney in 2012 when he started HS. We lived there for 4 years before moving back to Atlanta and he moved to Jonesboro. Loved it in McKinney and played all the Planos schools and Allen every year.
