I'm not sure the BSU fans will care much. I thought we've heard a few times that they are kinda ready for the next guy to come in...or am I wrong?

Honestly, I would question what Harsin is thinking leaving for somewhere that is as hard to win at as Arizona. I would think that if he even wants to leave Boise, he would be better off holding out for better P5 jobs than Arizona.

That's kinda what I think too..I believe he has been looked at for quite a few P5 openings in the past...

I think you are right. I doubt he leaves. But he might be just letting other schools know it could happen. There aren't very many head coaching jobs going to open up this year. Lot of people got a pass with covid. But you better believe that next year there will be far more than normal open up.

Yep, Boise State's fanbase has become entitled whiners where they think they can automatically win 11 games a year no matter who the coach is. I've gone to their board from time to time and many rip Harsin which is laughable. As good as their history has been over the past 20 years, it could easily fall off with the wrong hire.

If he leaves they'll pick up Avalos and be off to the races (assuming he's a good HC).

It would be funny if Boise State got the UC Davis coach if Harsin left.

Navy coach is reportedly the frontrunner. They tried to hire him in 2018.

And went the second stint of old coach route after seeing the disaster of it just down I-84.

Bryan Harsin's wife grew up in my uncle's ward, she had siblings were friends with my cousins, and his mother in law is my aunt's visiting teacher. My uncle told me that his mother in law won't let him move.

One thing that's funny is they realigned the boundaries of my uncle's ward in Boise, which is also Harsin's in-law's ward. One Sunday, Harsin's mother in law was put into a calling or did something that made Bryan and his wife go to the ward to support her. The people who were realigned from another ward into their ward were all talking about how it was so exciting the Boise State football coach was at church cause they didn't know the deal with his family there, while the people who were already in the ward prior to the realignment, and still in after, knew why he was there and didn't find it as exciting and explained it to those were newly realigned into the ward.

If they lose Harsin, Bosie would probably take a major step back IMO. Even with the tradition and name recognition they've built, it's not an easy place to recruit to (I have a connection to one of their former staffers). Their sustained success has been miraculous and was built and maintained by some amazing coaches. That pipeline is due to dry up.

But does this really eliminate any of their fans? I know it doesn't for their students.

As far as things drying up in Boise remember that money floats many boats, even with a Head Coaching change. When our Head Coach Bruce Snyder left USU for the L A Rams he publicly stated that "you can lose with money but you can't win without it".

No, but I think this tips the job toward Chico.
