IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME

To give us something else to talk about other than Tire Fire 2020, if you could go back two years ago and hire any of the then candidates to coach the Aggies, who would you have hired and what would the results have been? Bonus points if you talk about the butterfly effect of them not having coached elsewhere.
I’ll get the obvious one out of the way: USU hires Jay Hill. He was 34-25 at the time coming off a Big Sky championship. The seeds of him being a program builder were there. Hill comes in his first season at USU and the talent drain from previous year still is apparent, but USU picks up a win during the season and wins bowl game finishing 8-5 instead of 6-7.
This year, capitalizing on a very talented RB core, and utilizing the dual threat talents of Henry Colombi, USU loses a close one to Boise but wins out the rest of the season, and is invited to a bowl game.
Butterfly effect is minimal, Weber’s impact on the world is no different if they are .500 or if they are national champions.
