Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
Clearly I don't know how to embed tweets, but Bond's string of tweets the past few minutes seems a bit troubling.
EDIT: For those who don't follow Bond, jeepnfonz put some screen shots below.

There's quite a few voicing frustration on twitter. Metzenheimer, Pitcher, Shelton, Lampkin, Etc.

I don't think he did. I honestly just don't know how to embed them. Click on the "tweet not available" above and I think it will take you to them.

Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
Yeah - seems some players are being very vocal about their displeasure in not hiring Maile.

Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
Those kind or comments are IMHO why this team is not all that great. I will leave it at that. 90% of those kids would not be picked up by any D-1 program.

Sorry I completely disagree. We have awesome kids in the program and Bond is helluva player.

I think you're both right. If that's possible.
Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
I rarely agree with oleblue’s comments, but he is closer to being correct than you think. There has been a huge divide between players this whole season. As much as I hate to say it we have had huge locker room issues this entire season. One of the reasons I’m glad we went with Anderson is he can bring them back together by being an outsider. It puts every player on a level playing field with zero bias.

Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
I get the players wanting Frank. They like him. Heck, I like him too. Results in the field are not there, though. He was dealt a pretty tough hand as interim, but he also has to own part of the poor defense in his role as DC. If the players really wanted him they should have showed up for more than a quarter against AFA.
Kids are going to do what is best for them, as they should. We will lose more good players, but this was going to happen with anyone but Frank and I have no confidence that he would have had us winning more than we lose.

Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
I get that the players like Maile, but resorting to the race card on this just seems stupid. Is Maile objectively a better candidate than Anderson, who has been and FBS head coach for multiple years and a successful one at that? No? Then they have no argument. If they want to play that game, they can GTFO as far as I am concerned.

Yeah, I can't think of a single metric/resume that Frank would score higher than Anderson on.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑December 10th, 2020, 5:36 pmI get that the players like Maile, but resorting to the race card on this just seems stupid. Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
We are 1-5 with all 5 losses coming by 19 points or more. We have some good players and 90% is hyperbolic, but we do not have a good team and these players are not the ones who should be have a say in who the coach is.

I think it’s been way better since Frank took over.jeffdan25 wrote: ↑December 10th, 2020, 5:34 pmI rarely agree with oleblue’s comments, but he is closer to being correct than you think. Yep. They have not played well enough to make any demands on who the next coach should be.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑December 10th, 2020, 5:36 pmI get that the players like Maile, but resorting to the race card on this just seems stupid. Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
Guys are emotional and like Frank. Not an issue. Anderson has a rep as a players coach and guys will buy in once they get to know him, and if they don't, the transfer portal works both ways.

I'm just relieved that we can ride ourselves of the 2 coaches that have caused this divide.

I'd like to once again say how glad I am that the internet and social media were not around in my younger hot (hotter) head days.
He's a kid, he's emotional, they love Frank.

Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
Let me just say this of that list given of those on twitter , one kid is overweight, one is as poor a tackler as I have seen, another is very limited in ability period. One of those mentioned would get a look from me as a possible player I would have interest in..
To be honest there are not that many players on that team that I would consider FBS . If you do not want to stay and work hard do not let the door hit you where the good lord spilt ya. Hell I never got to say who I thought my boss should be.
I think Blake may need to clean the corral out before we see hard playing aggies again.
I just speak for myself but the lack of toughness in the AFA game was just awful.

Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
From a player's perspective I get wanting it to be the guy you play hard for each week, the guy that has stepped up and been relied on by your program on more than one occasion, and is a die-hard Aggie himself but I think everyone can agree he needs a bit more experience....or maybe just more experiences outside of Logan before he is ready. Taking emotion out it, there is no comparison to any of the candidates and Maile. We would be taking a risk on him and unfortunately the timing of this hire dictates we are in no position to take risks right now.
In any case, current players should never have a say in the hiring of a coach. If it's done right, they will move on with life away from USU long before a potential new coach will.

TWO coaches?! I assume GA was one of these. Are you suggesting that FM is the other? Am I the only one that is clueless on this? Who/what am I missing?JFW_AGGIES wrote: ↑December 10th, 2020, 5:49 pmI'm just relieved that we can ride ourselves of the 2 coaches that have caused this divide.

Re: Bond's Tweets - Doesn't Seem Good
Someone else suggested this in another thread. But while the players may have wanted it to be Frank, there's reasons players don't decide who the coach is just as there are reasons that in the workplace, workers don't decide who the next manager is.
