Jamey Chadwell
I know Aggie from Hawaii and others on here have mentioned him but I'm wondering if Jamey Chadwell has/is being considered for our opening (assuming he doesn't land at South Carolina)? The dude is Coastal Carolina's head coach and OC, is a hot name, and has over a 60% winning percentage. Plus the sticking it to BYU factor is always important!
Also wondering if Steve Sarkisian would at all be interested. Obviously knows the area and would offer the opportunity for him to take a role outside of the spotlight. Aim high, right?

Re: Jamey Chadwell
Jamey Chadwell would be a really good get, but I have to imagine he will be in the SEC and ACC as head coach within a year.

South Carolina job is filled with Beamer.
Nothing against Hartwell, but they got things done much quicker than us.

Re: Jamey Chadwell
South Carolina is a SEC school...with WAY bigger pockets than USU. I'm sure their candidate list was quite a bit different than ours...with way more options...

Re: Jamey Chadwell
Prediction: Jamey Chadwell will be coaching Tennessee either next year or the year after. Tennessee is currently 2-8. If Pruitt isn't fired after this year, he'll be on the hot seat next year. Chadwell is from Tennessee and played college ball in the state.
I would love him, but he is going to be making 5 million a year in the SEC real soon.

He also may be interested in the Vanderbilt job that just opened up.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 2:54 pmPrediction: Jamey Chadwell will be coaching Tennessee either next year or the year after. Maybe, but for his sake he should pass that one up. It is extremely hard to win at Vanderbilt.MTAG wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 3:00 pmHe also may be interested in the Vanderbilt job that just opened up.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 2:54 pmPrediction: Jamey Chadwell will be coaching Tennessee either next year or the year after. Re: Jamey Chadwell
Vanderbilt is the only SEC school with any academic standards so it’s pretty much impossible to compete in football. Although, living in Nashville would be pretty cool for the couple years you would coach for.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 3:07 pmMaybe, but for his sake he should pass that one up. Re: Jamey Chadwell
And to be fair, Vanderbilt does not fire their coaches quickly. You will have job security. Derek Mason lasted 7 seasons there despite never having a winning season. Compare that to a guy that has been mentioned on this board for our opening; Jim Mcelwain. Mcelwain went to back to back SEC title games at Florida, struggled in his 3rd season and was fired midyear. To be fair he was making up death threats, but had he been winning that third year, he would have kept his job.UStateTim wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 8:32 pmVanderbilt is the only SEC school with any academic standards so it’s pretty much impossible to compete in football.
