Re: Jay Hill
I'm fine with Jay Hill, but if we end up hiring him it would be too bad we didn't hire him a month ago. He could have got a jump start on building his program and recruiting. It isn't like we are prying him away from a season right now.

Re: Jay Hill
Do you know when they would have interviewed? Were these primary interviews or secondary interviews with some other candidates falling off?

Re: Jay Hill
If he ends up being the guy this will be my complaint as well. I think we can all agree though that the interview portion of this is the most important when it comes to Hartwell's decision. He is a good judge of whether someone really has a plan or if they are spewing cliches and coach talk. He also is very focused on good energy from a candidate so one must not only have good content, they must be a magnetic personality too. I trust we'll have the right guy in place.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 1:26 pmI'm fine with Jay Hill, but if we end up hiring him it would be too bad we didn't hire him a month ago. Re: Jay Hill
If we hire Jay Hill I won't have anything to complain about. There is a process here after all. I will complain if it is Times because I don't think he is a great choice

Re: Jay Hill
The longer this drags on, the more it looks like the basketball head coach search that gave us Duryea. I'm thinking Maile will end up being the coach.

Re: Jay Hill
Yeah it wouldn't be a knock on Hartwell as just something that would have been nice to have closed sooner like if you knew of your girlfriend for a while before asking her out, but took your chance with some other girls before realizing she was the best option. I'm fine if Jay Hill ends up being the guy. It sounds like we got several good candidates. My 2015 ptsd has been erased.Aglicious wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 1:40 pmIf he ends up being the guy this will be my complaint as well. Re: Jay Hill
I was initially worried about that, but we have interviewed several proven coaches that would take the job if offered. Is there any word that Jay Hill would turn us down? I'd be shocked by that.

Re: Jay Hill
That would s just emotional and doesn't make any sense. Different time, different AD, different sport. Also different case where there is actual evidence of Mailed coaching most of a season. Let it go. Let yourself heal my Aggie brother

Re: Jay Hill
Despite what has been said Jay was interviewed but not offered. Harrell was interviewed and offered.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 1:27 pmDo you know when they would have interviewed? Were these primary interviews or secondary interviews with some other candidates falling off?
One strong point for Jay is his buyout is only $100,000. If it was up to me I would offer him asap, he does have recruiting contacts for players that would help here. Weber has recruited some 3 star players, and has contacts with kids that may not go to Weber, but would consider USU

I would be just fine if Hill was hired. He would be a solid hire, in my opinion.oleblu111 wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 1:53 pmDespite what has been said Jay was interviewed but not offered.
