Boise and BYU
1. Absolutely infuriating that the MWC is catering to YBU and Boise.
2. Why were no “special exemptions” made to USU and BYU to play. I mean don’t we want our shot at a potential playoff team!?
3. This makes me hate YBU and those donkeys even more.
4. As discussed before what in the heck do you do with with a 7-0 conference record and a another team that 7-1 in conference!?
Huh, looks like SDSU has the same option.

Re: Boise and BYU
They have already addressed item 4. Win percentage is what gets you in the conference championship game. No Divisions either. So if we go 7-1 with our only loss to Boise and Boise goes 7-0. We would make the conference championship unless you think Hawaii, SJSU, or UNLV is also going 7-1 with their only loss being to Boise. Then it would be a tie breaker scenario.
Keep in mind that SDSU and Boise are both taking a risk by only playing 7 conference games. If they lose one and go 6-1 but beat us and we go 7-1, we would be in over them and the head to head is no longer a factor. So their margin of error shrinks. They likely have to go undefeated in conference to make the title game.
But from my understanding BYU is paying the conference for these two games and has expressed interest in paying to play us (I hope we don't.) So it's not like we are bending over backwards for them. Its mutually beneficial.

The below article goes into detail of what the championship game selection would look like.

Re: Boise and BYU
Thanks guys. I haven’t been on mwwire for awhile now. This seems fair. I guess Boise is hedging their bets then. They probably think they can run the MWC table, beat BYU, and then punch their ticket to NY6 bowl. If those happen. I’m hoping we can derail all their plans on 10/24!Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 2nd, 2020, 10:55 amThe below article goes into detail of what the championship game selection would look like.

Re: Boise and BYU
It looks like SDSU obliged and gave them one on December 12th giving them 7 home games now.

Right but next year our game with them is in Logan. 2 home games for us is fine by me.Aggiealum13 wrote: ↑October 3rd, 2020, 12:19 pmIt looks like SDSU obliged and gave them one on December 12th giving them 7 home games now.

This article misses what I will call the Boise rule.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 2nd, 2020, 10:55 amThe below article goes into detail of what the championship game selection would look like.

So if Boise is 6-1 and USU is 7-1 but Boise won on Oct. 24th, Boise is in not USU.In the event of an unbalanced schedule where there is a tie in the loss column, head-to-head results will take precedent over winning percentage.

Re: Boise and BYU
If we are 7-1 we will almost assuredly be in the championship game. Remeber there are no divisions this year so in reality we could play boise in the championship game. This is obviously wishful thinking at this point, but it is possible.Full wrote: ↑October 3rd, 2020, 2:43 pmThis article misses what I will call the Boise rule.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 2nd, 2020, 10:55 amThe below article goes into detail of what the championship game selection would look like.
