Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
Full MWC schedule:
Interesting that they are making an exception for Boise to play BYU (AFA has one too for Navy but that was already in the works)

Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
Neither is the BIG10 or PAC12. there is not enough time for by weeks if they want to compete for the college football playoff or the New Years Six.

Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
I really like our schedule.
Getting Boise out of the gate in week 1 when anything can happen ala Arkansas State or some of the other large upsets.
No film on us and our new offense or defense. Players rusty. This could be our year in the Albertsons.

It's my hope that we can get to the point where a home win over a conference mate is not viewed as a "large upset".

Tough start to the season, but just happy that we have football back. How come SDSU and AF are not having to play the last game of the season?

I think the conference is letting teams that originally scheduled BYU late in the season keep it. Probably something to do with lawyers.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 2:30 pmTough start to the season, but just happy that we have football back. Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
I think it is handling the open date in the schedule from Air Force the way that is most advantageous for the whole conference to perhaps get a team in the NY6. Tough to argue with

Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
Wouldn't that apply to the PAC 12 and BIG 10 games they have scheduled since those conferences are playing as well. Does not make any sense that the conference would be appeasing BYU versus just having a conference only schedule for our team members.Full wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 2:39 pmI think the conference is letting teams that originally scheduled BYU late in the season keep it. Things set up very nicely for the Pokes to make a run at the title this year. They get their biggest challenges at home and they have a couple easier games on the back-end leading to a final home game against the Donks.

Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
Air Force was already scheduled to play Army on that date. With no bye weeks, that leaves one MW team without an opponent for that week, and so BYU is filling the void. If the Air Force/Army game wasn't already scheduled, then Air Force / Boise would be the game and there would be no Boise/BYU.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 2:50 pmWouldn't that apply to the PAC 12 and BIG 10 games they have scheduled since those conferences are playing as well. Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
A couple of thoughts:
1. Super annoying that the MWC is placating BYU! Get lost losers, nobody cares about you!
2. @Boise, Air Force, Fresno, AND SDSU! Come on MWC! Could you make it any harder for us? We'd better have games against UNLV, SJST, New Mexico, and Hawaii next year.
3. Besides playing us and AF right off the bat, Bosie has a CAKE schedule (anyone surprised)? They even get a Hawaii trip in late November.
4. It would have been super cool to see us play @UNLV this year. Maybe next year when tickets will be easier to get?

Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
The rotation between teams has been set for years, as well as home/away schedules within the conference. This isn't harsh/unfair treatment toward USU.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 5:17 pmA couple of thoughts:

Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
Yep and it has benefitted us in the past most notably 2013 when we lost to Boise State, but they had to play at Fresno and at SDSU when both of those teams were good and we avoided both and we got into the championship game. The schedule rotates every year and next season we'll be back to having unlv, SJSU and Hawaii again.ususports wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 5:21 pmThe rotation between teams has been set for years, as well as home/away schedules within the conference. Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
Yep and for all intents and purposes this year is kind of wacky anyways so who knows what's going to. Next year with the experience we bring back as well as what would appear to be a more favorable schedule in the conference I really think next year could be a very good year.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 5:32 pmYep and it has benefitted us in the past most notably 2013 when we lost to Boise State, but they had to play at Fresno and at SDSU when both of those teams were good and we avoided both and we got into the championship game. Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
It looks like three or four of their defensive players have opted to sit out this year. A couple of them look like they were starters as well so that could definitely impact them.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 3:11 pmThings set up very nicely for the Pokes to make a run at the title this year. Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
Oh a 1000% I'd much rather have our schedule this year during Covid. Throw in a road Boise State game. Honestly we probably won't win that game, but a road game at Boise with no fans helps us and then with a better team next year we get them at home in what we all hope is a full stadium.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 5:43 pmYep and for all intents and purposes this year is kind of wacky anyways so who knows what's going to. Agree entirely, noticed that when they said 8 games, should have gone for 6;to ensure a complete season.

Re: LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!
They are trying for 8 but Hartwell has mentioned not every game acroos the league will be played due to will play due to issues. I am guessing we will get 6-7.

And that is exactly why you go for as many as you can and then hopefully end up with 6ish.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 7:59 pmThey are trying for 8 but Hartwell has mentioned not every game acroos the league will be played due to will play due to issues. I am guessing we will get 6-7.
