Logan or Lubbock?

As I watched the entire second half of the TCU vs. Texas game, I wondered if Henry Columbi is thinking he made a bad decision. Unless there are injuries, he has next to no chance of seeing the field in his last two seasons. He is behind a pretty darn good Soph. Q-back. I may be wrong, but there is another player between the starter and Columbi.
His choice I guess, but I do feel a little sorry for him. Question is...would he have had a better chance to start had stayed in Logan or hope something works out for him in Lubbock?

My bet is if he wants to play he will transfer from Lubbocka at some point. It was discussed on here that tech had a younger likely better qb already in place.

Obviously only Henri can answer if it was the right call or not. From an outsider perspective this seems to be the wrong decision. Not only is behind a good QB at Tech if I remember right he is not on scholarship. To me it would have made more sense to fight for the job here, graduate and then transfer to another school for his senior year if need be.

bad decision... gave up the chance to be a starter for the chance to be third string in a sh** hole of a town.

sort of like Lewis, how did it turn out for him.

I question that Henry really had a chance to be the starter here after Shelley was brought in...and not because of his talent.

So you think that regardless of talent he would have been second unit ? I do not believe that at all in fact that does not make sense He most likely thought he was owed the starting job, and when a double transfer was brought into compete he took off. Not someone that I worry or care about at all.

I freaking love HC. I thought both him and his dad were great ambassadors to the program. I was amped to see what HC was going to do at the helm this year, having seen glimpses of him the last 2 years.
Then everything changed.
Once the dust settled, I think HC made an emotional decision in going to Lubbock and not a measured one. I don't care what the conspiracy theorists think, HC was going to have the opportunity to win the job, just like Peasly has the opportunity to win it now.
I think this is really a cautionary tale regarding making decisions in the heat of the moment.

Even if Shelley would have beat out Henry at USU I think odds were high that he would have gotten significant playing time. Shelley is a dual threat QB and chances are he will be banged up a bit throughout the season and our 2nd stringer will be thrust into action. The Bowman kid is less likely to get injured and the talent gap is also greater. From the outside I think it was a poor football decision for Henry to transfer there.

I agree with Godfather From the workouts/Practices I have seen Peasly is being just as many snaps as Shelly. I believe they will be given an equal chance and the starter will be decided after the next 20 days and the better man will win. If Columbi had
stayed he would have been given an equal chance..

You’re correct.

Weird decision to go to TT though.

There is no way in hell Peasley will be the QB starter this year. It’s all a facade. It’s Shelley’s job.

I've never been to Lubbock, but I've been to plenty of other places in Tejas to know, Logan is 100 times better.

Dallas Houston and that side of the state is 10 times better than the Lubbock area.

I've only ever sent time in Odessa (long story) and Dallas. Flown over the state many times. Not much to see IMHO. I have some friends who live in the Houston area who seem to like it though, but they don't like getting hit by hurricanes either.

It was 100% the right decision for HC to transfer under the circumstances.

It was 100% the wrong decision to transfer to Texas Tech as a walk-on.

Texas Tech* vs Texas
(not TCU)

Don’t fault him for transferring. Gary is treating round 2 at USU like Utah fallouts are his own special farm team. Mariner and Repp proved valuable last year and I’m all about bringing in talent where you need it, but what kind of message is GA sending to the rest of the team when he does this year over year? And from the same in-state program?? It is especially insulting when he does this for a position that isn’t a need-position.

If I’m a freshman or sophomore Aggie, I am wondering why I should work my tail off for years and do everything right while respectfully waiting for my time to shine? Is GA going to pull a fast one on me?

Wells knows what HC can do and that Bowman kid threw 3 interceptions. Not to mention many of Bowman’s passing yards came from Wells’ ever-favorite plays (screen passes). I credit TT blocking more than I do that qb’s skill set. HC will likely get an opportunity to contribute sooner than we think.

The HC and Texas Tech stuff aside, I hope Shelley and DHC prove to be solid investments. I also hope I’m wrong about my assumption of what the overall interpretation of the team is (regarding the annual adoption of former-Utes to swoop in and take starting jobs).

And for the love of everything holy, just let us get back to the days when our front 7 could slow Air Force. Truly missing the brothers Vigil, Fackrell, and Doughty.

I agree. Very foolish to go to a place where you have almost no chance to play. That said, there has to be a school that in need of a quarterback to start for them.

Henry Colombi is NOT a grad transfer. He had his waiver for immediate eligibility approved by the NCAA.
