Re: well... &$#@!!!!!!!
It really sucks for the players.
As for the fans- it’s really disappointing- but we’ll get over it. We would have missed some of our most exciting games for a season without a bowl game even if we went undefeated.
Hopefully we can have something in spring.
And lastly hopefully sports survives.

We will not have anything in spring. That is a line of (I can't express myself without swearing) spun by people that don't want to get yelled at all at one time. We are witnessing a decision that will hurt student athletes, employees, and local businesses. All because these (I can't express myself without swearing) presidents and admins can't solve a minor issue. If there was ever a moment that could spell the end of USU football, it is this one.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑August 10th, 2020, 5:14 pmIt really sucks for the players.

It does suck - for you and your son. I am just getting ready to move my youngest kid back up to Logan. I suppose I will have to move him back out at Thanksgiving. It is a pain. Hopefully your son enjoyed his time in Logan and gained an appreciation for the school, town and area. I hope he got an education and life skills to make him into a productive citizen. We, as fans and alumni of USU, are very appreciative of Jordan accepting a scholarship to play for our team and giving the team and school all he had. Thanks for raising such a hard-working kid who we are proud to have worn the Aggie blue.taniataylor wrote: ↑August 10th, 2020, 5:23 pmThis sucks....pretty sure my boy will be coming home.

Most states will have HS football this fall. The NFL is planning to play. And yet the NCAA conferences couldn't find a way to do it? This. What was the TRUE reasoning. I highly doubt they play in the spring. What a shame. Will anything be different in the spring? I doubt it.

Re: well... &$#@!!!!!!!
The reason is simple: they can't treat these guys like anything other than students, so a bubble is out of the question. They are stuck in their charade of "amateurism" and can't get out. They deserve this, but the players and the fans don't. I hope admins lose jobs over this. I hope Craig Thompson falls off a very high cliff.FL350Aggie wrote: ↑August 10th, 2020, 6:02 pmOKAggie wrote: ↑August 10th, 2020, 5:56 pmMost states will have HS football this fall. The ncaa isn’t canceling anything- the conferences are wherein lies the problem. Re: well... &$#@!!!!!!!
This is by design. The NCAA gets to act like a big bad boss when it wants, and then dissolve into a confederacy of institutions when it wants to pass the buck. Its demise can't come soon enough.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑August 10th, 2020, 6:07 pmThe ncaa isn’t canceling anything- the conferences are wherein lies the problem. These two posts right here are the reason we are where we are. It's not social media, or players, or the media, or covid, or unions, or compensation, or old people deaths, or (I can't express myself without swearing) unicorns or anything else, its this political (I can't express myself without swearing).

Congrats. The gubmint has succeeded in convincing otherwise sane, rational people that a naturally occurring virus posing a slightly elevated threat (relative to the flu) almost exclusively to the old and infirm is a reason to shut down the world and hide in a cave. Heaven forbid that one college football player should get CV-19 and have sniffles. Recently, a California prison in my neighborhood reported 300 positive CV-19 cases. Of the total, only 6 had even minor symptoms and none needed to see a doctor. But apparently incredibly fit 20 year olds will be dying like flies if we play football.

I'm glad they're joking. My comment was not directed at them specifically, just pointing out that where we find ourselves now is political (I can't express myself without swearing) and nothing else. These two comments perfectly sum up why we are here, in my opinion. I am frustrated. If we would have just got past all the garbage and worked together, we'd be done with this and looking forward to football, instead here we are.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑August 10th, 2020, 7:58 pmHave you followed ViAggie at all? College football did massively fail us. They had 5 months to put together a plan and they didn't do it. Definitely a lot of blame to go around and a lot of people that should be out of a job over this.Aggie19 wrote: ↑August 10th, 2020, 8:02 pmI'm glad they're joking.
