Interesting to see if there's any fall out with the rest of the conferences.

Looks like the Big 10 might be headed in the same direction.

That could be the death knell of college football this year.TrueBlueAggie123 wrote: ↑August 8th, 2020, 9:27 am

There probably won't be mid major football this year.Aggiealum13 wrote: ↑August 8th, 2020, 9:16 amhttps://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... ove-spring

Re: MAC cancels fall sports including football.
Let everyone cancel but the Mountain West. Then Conference Champ can also claim National Champ. That's my vote, but only if we're conference champs I guess.
Really, this is getting crazy.

The SEC would probably be last to cancel. But if it gets down to SEC and Mountain West, maybe have the national championship by the SEC champ against the Mountain West champ.

I hear they landed a big time school instead of bama! An armed services member LOLZ

Don't we get our shot at bama in a couple of years or something? Why not just offer a home and home with them.

Pretty much what I was saying in March and what most here are coming to realize- there will be no college football this fall

But who would have thought that the P5 conferences and some G5 conferences would come up with plans to have a season, then the MAC cancelling would make them all question their plans and possibly cancel fall football?

There is such a lack of leadership at all levels
Conferences put out a schedule like 10 days ago and literally nothing has changed with respect to the virus and now they’re changing course?
I really hope they don’t cut the fall 2021 season down to 6-8 games in order to cram in a 6 game spring season

I don't understand that part of it as well. The number of cases have started to drop off. Conference put out the schedule and it gives teams 5-6 weeks to get everything planned out correctly. I think they should have at least given it a shot to see if things would have worked. I honestly don't know what the end all be all is for these conferences, but if it is 0 COVID cases that is completely not feasible. That is unless you are the NBA and can go the bubble route, but college football cannot. Just because you have a few cases on a team or staff does not mean you need to cancel everything (in my opinion).Intermeddler wrote: ↑August 9th, 2020, 6:37 pmThere is such a lack of leadership at all levels

Re: MAC cancels fall sports including football.
Yeah if the season is completely cancelled, there needs to be a reckoning with the NCAA. People need to be fired over this. You had 5 months to figure out a path forward and if the season is cancelled, it will be an admission of failure.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑August 9th, 2020, 6:47 pmI don't understand that part of it as well. I don't blame them for cancelling March Madness even though that obviously sucked for fans of the sport and us Aggies in particular. It was a spur of the moment thing with little time to plan for it. This is different. It is literally 5 months from when the world shut down. What were they doing? Where was the adapting, the plans, the strategy? Just pathetic leadership all the way around.
