Re: Comet over Maverik
I JUST noticed a second beautiful sight in that picture. Practice equipment out on the field! That stuff isn't out there unless it is being used!

Took me about seven seconds from seeing this to make it my computer background.

Anyone know what time this would have been taken? I want to see what it looks like tonight.

What a great picture! So proud a USU built instrument discovered it too!

We went camping at Cherry Springs State Park in Pennsylvania last week and saw the comet on the horizon as we were walking to the star-gazing field. That is awesome that a USU instrument first discovered the comet.

Someone with more photo shop skills than I should bring the lit sign into focus.
This post is likely straight up poor sarcasm and cannot be taken seriously.
Re: Comet over Maverik
My second thought on seeing the image was it would be better if the photographer would have taken at least two images, one properly exposed for the comet and another for the NEZ, and then layer the images in Photoshop. Relatively easy to do using a tripod (which I'm assuming was used) and basic Photoshop skills. My first thought was that it is an awesome image.pilotaggie wrote: ↑July 20th, 2020, 1:05 pmSomeone with more photo shop skills than I should bring the lit sign into focus.

I have a friend that I joke with him when he has kids that he will call me in the middle of the night to get the next set of dad jokes.

This is correct....either that or someone else placed his signature in the lower right corner. (I just noticed this today on my desktop).
