I agree. Loved his interviews last year. Seemed like a great positive person.

Thompkins looks to be the most dynamic player we've had since Jojo, and given how much more stable we are offensively than in that last Jojo year, he could be the most exciting player we've had since maybe Chuckie.

The one thing that concerned me from the article is it mentioned that he didn’t really produce solid numbers vs some of our better competition.

Neither did our quarterback though.

Good point. More of a team thing from play calling to offense functioning. Hopefully this year it improves.

I think Thompkins was grossly misused most of the season. I can't wait to see how he's used this year. Putting Thompkins as a wideout and just having him run routes is not the best use of 5'7" speedster in college football.

Hopefully what Aggies22 said is true and we get to see him in a Natson type roll this year.

I'd also like to say that while I think Jordan Nathan is great, I'd rather see Thompkins returning punts. He's quicker & shiftier.

Quicker and shiftier are great, but does he have the hands of Jordan? When it comes to a punt returner, this is king.

I think any lack of production in this area has more to do with poor scheming on blocking for punt returns. I don't know what the statistics show, but it sure seems like we have to be setting all time records for the most fair catches called out of any pro, college, high school, and little league team combined. If by the time the punt returner catches the ball, there are 5 guys ready to plow into the person returning the punt, it really doesn't matter how shifty the player is, he is going to call a fair catch. The ref does not award bonus yards for being shifty just because you are not given the opportunity to actually return it.

Nathan and Thompkins were number 2 & 3 in receptions, behind only Siaosi. Depth chart doesn't seem all that relevant.

If we could get Thompkins to play like Jojo and Scarver to become as good of a deep threat as Hunter Sharp, I think we’ll have a solid year offensively.

I expect the jet sweep to be a big part of our offense this year. With guys like Scarver and Thompkins, that would be a hard play to stop

Wise decision. Sometimes it's just not worth getting into it. Jordan's effort speaks volumes to those of us that truly pay attention. He is a valuable asset to Utah State on and off the field.

All you have to do is watch the WF game last year and see the bad angle's that his speed caused. When he is healthy he is a match up problem.

I expect to see more bubbles to him, More quick slants in cover 2, more over / under routes with him and Nathan. And more chances to get him matched up on a seam in 1 on 1 with a safety. And more east to west plays in general to stretch the D wide. Anything to get a bad angle cause if you do he is gone.

All of those situation are a net positive for us. I agree if we could get scarver to stretch the field long that would help. We also need our tight ends to be much much much more physical is both the passing and run game. I felt like that was lacking big time last year. We missed Dax a ton.

When a kid runs a 4.2 40, it's imperative to find ways to get him the ball.

Reestablishing the 2-TE sets are also making a comeback in 2020.

That the game right if you have to cover him with a safety and Scarves over the top speed causes you to help with inside leverage... One bad angle on DT and he will split you safety's and be gone right. I am sure we are going to everything we can to try and force teams to play man on us.
