Several players trying to get Covid NOW
Several football players have told Pete Thamel they want to get COVID now so that they are immune to it by September.

Re: Several players trying to get Covid NOW
Uhm... I hope some one tells them that getting the virus doesn't make you immune to it, some people have got the virus more than once/never fully recovered, and I'm not talking about old people, I'm talking young people. Covid can also cause permanent lung damage regardless of your age or how healthy you are.

I am not aware of a single confirmed case of someone being reinfected after recovering. Can you link to an example?ViAggie wrote: ↑July 2nd, 2020, 12:03 pmUhm... The virus is six months old. You have no idea that there is permanent lung damage.ViAggie wrote:Uhm... Oh I've read the same articles you have. I'm just not hiding in my basement for the next four years.ViAggie wrote: ↑July 2nd, 2020, 1:33 pmGOOGLE is your friend!!!

Its such a new disease, that I think there is a lot of guessing going on. Nobody really knows for sure.

I don't have a basement to hide in! I'm jealous of those with basements though, I miss having a basement!!!2004AG wrote: ↑July 2nd, 2020, 1:38 pmOh I've read the same articles you have. Re: Several players trying to get Covid NOW
Not sure if he has actually read them as his conclusion is not really supported by the article. Reactivation is not the same as reinfection. Not to mention that article is from April and based on data from South Korea and the CDC is not mentioned or quoted.2004AG wrote: ↑July 2nd, 2020, 1:38 pmOh I've read the same articles you have. Re: Several players trying to get Covid NOW
If this crazy illness just popped up last December or so, is 6 to 8 months really count as long term? Unless of course, this illness has been around longer than that.....ViAggie wrote: ↑July 2nd, 2020, 1:33 pmGOOGLE is your friend!!!

Hmmm. I'm skeptical. I heard Brennan Huff used to smoke pot with Johnny Hopkins and Sloan Kettering.

Re: Several players trying to get Covid NOW
Remember, folks, the at risk group for getting the disease and having a serious issue is about 10 percent across the population. Our players/students are in the smallest risk category-- that doesn't mean they won't or can't get it-- statistically. People make all these statements about COVID-19, but we really only have about 5 months of experience with it. So its still all a crap shoot.
