You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I don't know exactly how that would work. It's hard enough to breathe with those suckers on when just walking around. I don't see how it would be possible when a person is playing a sportUSU78 wrote: ↑May 21st, 2020, 3:56 pmAny talk about this sort of thing, @taniataylor ?

Re: Fall Sports - No Bueno
Hans and Scotty had a great conversation about current concerns with playing in the Fall. Segment 1 is worth a listen.

Some good news for outdoor events and possibly football. With outdoor events expanding capacity for up to 6,000 people.

MWC has told schools that they can have football stadium capacity up to 60%, I've heard.

So what you are saying is that this season will be just like every other season for all teams in the MWC.AggiesForever wrote: ↑June 12th, 2020, 12:36 pmMWC has told schools that they can have football stadium capacity up to 60%, I've heard.

Re: Fall Sports - No Bueno
Sorry to be the wet blanket, but some of the recent reports about spiking numbers have me depressed about the likelihood of football this fall.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/12/health/u ... index.html
Some states are getting close to the number of new daily cases they had in the height of the pandemic shutdown. It is possible that places will start publicly taking the approach that the world has to re-open and everyone is responsible for themselves and the people they are around, but if this spike stays level as states continue to re-open, I have great fears about the likelihood of football this fall.

Re: Fall Sports - No Bueno
Some places are seeing increases, some decreases. Some of those increases are due to more testing, targeted testing, increased spread of the disease, or some other factor.jpswensen wrote: ↑June 12th, 2020, 1:46 pmSorry to be the wet blanket, but some of the recent reports about spiking numbers have me depressed about the likelihood of football this fall.

These have been our national total positive confirmed cases in June (give or take some rounding):
6/11 20,000
6/10 21,000
6/9 18,000
6/8 16,000
6/7 20,000
6/6 23,000
6/5 29,000
6/4 21,000
6/3 20,000
6/2 24,000
6/1 16,000
I don't see a spike I see a shift. It will be very interesting to see how the harder hit areas early (NY, NJ, Michigan, etc.) fair over the summer and if the areas that avoided bad outbreaks earlier will go through that now and are simply trailing the earlier states or if these numbers will rise everywhere. Numbers are falling drastically in many European countries despite reopening (so much so in the UK that the Oxford vaccine trial has had to shift to the US and Brazil to get enough viral exposure to give results). Will be interesting to see where we stand in mid July when practice resumes.

Good. We need to all get it now so we aren’t sick during the essential sports!jpswensen wrote:Sorry to be the wet blanket, but some of the recent reports about spiking numbers have me depressed about the likelihood of football this fall.
