2020 NFL Draft

Post by ThunderAggie » April 23rd, 2020, 6:13 pm

Wanted to start a separate thread for the NFL Draft. Can't wait to hear where Jordan Love goes! It is also nice to watch something live and new for a change.

One thing that was nice was Roger Goodell did a tribute to the medical workers at the beginning of the draft. Also, Dr. Fauci spoke to the fans for a minute.

Isaiah Simmons from Clemson is spectacular. Future superstar in the NFL.

I'm surprised Tua went that fast. I had him going after Love.

Mekhi Becton ran a 5.1 40 yd dash as a OT and earned himself an 11th pick. Goes to show how big the 40 can be especially for big guys.

Love is better than Tua. Love is bigger, faster, stronger and can hit the deep ball in an elite manner.

Tua was never going after Love.

What have you guys been reading or watching? There was no way Love was ever going before Tua.

I was 50/50 on it. I had him going close to Love in the late first round. The hip injury is a bit of a gamble

Kansas City selects RB CLyde Edwards-Helaire...

Hopefully he doesn't take Darwin's spot.

That was my thought as well. I thought for sure Darwin was their next man up. :noidea:

Should be ok, with the addition last night, they only have 3 backs. Williams, Thompson and the new kid. Hopefully they don't add a FA, then it gets tough.

Because of his size Thompson will be a fring NFL RB until he gets enough carries to prove he can deliver consistently. It's going to take a bit of luck for him to get a chance to prove that.

A Wyoming linebacker, Logan Wilson, who had them and us as his only two offers, got picked in the first pick of the third round by the Bengals, likely being expected to replace Nick Vigil.

One thing that was bad news for him was that Mel Kiper didn't rip the Bengals apart for that selection, being baffled by it!

Reid loves Thompson. He’ll be fine and see more run this year as I assume the McCoy experiment is over and Williams tends to get injured.

Noone else selected, but we got more coverage of giving up a touchdown against Wisconsin. BYU has gotten quite a bit of coverage when they highlighted guys from Wisconsin, USC And Washington. As well as one of the touchdowns they gave up to Jordan Love.

Yeah, it is kind of funny to laugh at, but there are years we don't have anyone picked but still get coverage in other's highlights.

I was hoping the Packers would draft Woody. They drafted Kamal Martin, and ILB from Minnesota.

I am not sure when or if David or Tipa will get drafted?

Also, the Patriots drafted the kicker from Marshall. Should have taken Eberle!

A trip to Newport Beach could still be in the cards for one of them.

When they were, during the 7th round talking about the Packers choosing Jordan, they showed literally the EXACT SAME video that they showed after his selection was announced during the first round. Literally all the SAME plays, and in the SAME order. Not one play skipped the first time was shown the second time, and not one play shown the first time was skipped the second time. That is probably what they do for all first round picks, show the same video both times, I just didn't notice cause it's usually not any of our guys that get picked there.

We also got coverage giving up a touchdown to Boise's John Hightower. And BYU got more coverage giving up the touchdown to Hawaii's Cole Mcdonald. Weber State got footage giving up touchdowns to James Madison.

Tua will be the first left-handed quarterback to play in the NFL since undrafted Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore had essentially a one-year NFL career in 2015.
