The 64 play/performance bracket is set

I have put together a 64 plays/performance bracket for us to have a single elimination tournament where we will vote on which play or performance we like better. I included some single plays and some game performances.

Romney Regional
1. 2014, Darell Garretson touchdown pass to Hunter Sharp that put us up 28-14 against BYU, along with the duo torching them throughout the night.
2. 2012, The Blocked punt touchdown against Utah.
3. 2002, Chris Stallworth hail mary catch against New Mexico.
4. 1991, The Game winning field goal as time expired against ranked Fresno State which gave us our first win over a ranked opponent and what was our only one for a long time.
5. 2011, Chuckie Keeton’s performance as a true freshman in his first start at Auburn.
6. 2019, Savon Scarver’s Kick Return Touchdowns against CSU and Nevada. Based on them being similarly key momentum points early in the game, I decided to combine those into one spot.
7. 2004, Robert Watts two interceptions against UNLV, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
8. 2011, Stanley Morrison to Robert Turbin touchdown pass on last play of third quarter against Nevada.
9. 2013, Jaron Bentrude fake punt touchdown run against New Mexico.
10. 2010, The drive to score that put us up 31-3 over BYU.
11. 2010, Nevin Lawson interception against San Jose State in the endzone with 9 seconds left to seal the game.
12. 2003, Chris Cooley touchdown against Nebraska briefly putting us up 7-6.
13. 2015, Devonte Robinson 44 yard touchdown on screen against Fresno State that started to break the game open leading to our first win in Fresno since 1980.
14. 2008, After a bad snap way over Diondre Borel’s head run on third down, he ran back, scooped it up and ran for a first down on third and long.
15. 2015, Kent Myers having 191 rushing yards against Colorado State.
16. 2017, Kent Myers 68 yard touchdown against San Jose State that stretched the lead to 55-0.

Merlin Olsen Regional
1. 2015, Marwin Evans 90 yard interception return touchdown against Boise State at end of half that put us up 45-10.
2. 2000, Emmitt White with NCAA record 578 all-purpose yards against New Mexico State
3. 2018, Tipa Galeai interception return touchdown to put us up 7-0 against BYU.
4. 2018, Gage Ferguson Interception return touchdown against Michigan State.
5. 2012, Kerwynn Williams 3 touchdowns in the fourth quarter of Potato Bowl against Toledo.
6. 1993, Anthony Calvillo's 5 td/472 yards against BYU
7. 2009, Robert Turbin 96 yard run against Utah
8. 2019, Dominik Eberle game winning field goal against Fresno State.
9. 2011, Adam Kennedy for first down while faking to Turbin that run to seal the win against Nevada.
10. 2013, Chuckie Keeton performance against Air Force in our First Ever Mountain West game.
11. 2012, The stop in overtime to beat Louisiana Tech and win the last WAC Championship.
12. 2018, Dominik Eberle 6 field goals, 6 PATs against New Mexico State tying the record for points.
13. 1993, Jermaine Younger hit on BYU’s Eric Drage.
14. 2015, Kyler Fackrell touchdown against Nevada after we pinned them on the 1.
15. 1997, Jeremy Hunt-Loveless tackling against Utah the way he did.
16. 2017, Darell Garretson school record passing for 370 against Hawaii.

Scotsman Regional
1. 2017, Jalen Davis Two Interception return touchdowns along with a Third interception against BYU.
2. 2014, Zach Vigil tackling Air Force quarterback and running back on same play.
3. 1997, Matt Sauk Game winning touchdown against Utah.
4. 2011, Stanley Morrison converting TWO fake punts and also catching a touchdown between two defenders against Hawaii.
5. 2019, Caleb Repp one handed touchdown catch against Boise State.
6. 2009, Bobby Wagner one handed interception against Louisiana Tech.
7. 2015, Andew Rodriguez punt return touchdown to save us against Southern Utah
8. 2007, Kevin Robinson kick return touchdown against New Mexico State, that stretched the lead back to 28-17 after NMSU scored to cut it to 21-17. This win ended a 16 game losing streak
9. 2012, Kerwynn Williams long screen for touchdown on first play against Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State.
10. 2018, Jontrell Rocquemore strip sack on Tanner Mangum.
11. 2013, Brian Suite interception early in the second half in Poinsettia Bowl against Northern Illinois which turned out to be key in the game.
12. 2001, Kevin Curtis touchdown against Oregon to start the game putting us up 7-0 and electrifying the crowd.
13. 2017, David Woodward Fumble Return touchdown against New Mexico putting us up 24-3.
14. 2019, David Woodward strip-fumble touchdown against CSU.
15. 2013, Kyler Fackrell 100 yard interception return touchdown against Hawaii
16. 2016, Devante Mays over 200 yards, 3 touchdowns against Weber State.

Big Blue Regional
1. 2012, Chuckie Keeton scramble on third down in overtime against Utah setting up the touchdown.
2. 2012, Will Davis endzone interception ending La Tech’s Colby Cameron streak of attempts without an interception at 445, along with Doughty having an interception in the endzone.
3. 2010, Xavier Martin 79 yard touchdown against BYU to put us up 7-0 and set the tone of the game.
4. 2014, Nick Vigil surprised everyone by playing running back, leading in tackles and rushing yards against BYU.
5. 2011, The scoring drive at the end against Hawaii. I will throw in stopping their desperation lateral play which we waited until after to celebrate.
6. 2001, Kevin Curtis coming out party on opening day against Utah.
7. 2019, Siaosi Mariner toe top touchdown against Wake Forest.
8. 2018, David Woodward Interception against North Texas in New Mexico Bowl.
9. 2011, Robert Turbin 80 yard run on first play at BYU.
10. 2010, On last drive and trailing Borel scrambled on 4th and 10 for the first down keeping us alive at San Jose State.
11. 2012, Jake Doughty levels Colorado State kicker.
12. 2013, The 17 play, 80 yard, 7 plus minute scoring drive against Northern Illinois in Poinsettia Bowl.
13. 2019, Shaq Bond 48 yard interception return touchdown against San Diego State helping lead us to our first win in Mountain West play over the Aztecs.
14. 2018, Jordan Love 448 yards and 4 touchdowns in one half against New Mexico .
15. 2018, Gerold Bright 70 yard touchdown against Air Force to give us more breathing room after they Air Force scored a few quick touchdowns to make it 35-32.
16. 2015, Hunter Sharp chased down the Washington defender after an interception to get him at the one yard line and save a defensive touchdown. Then we get a fumble return touchdown the other way a few plays later, 2015

I will run the bracket over in the quad. I will start by having the first round take two weeks, with four voting battles at a time running for two days each. I will see how the world situation is by then with us being stuck inside is then determine how long I drag on the later rounds.

I agree, you did a great job GFA. This will be fun.
My only wish is to not forget the pre 1990s Aggie.players. I know this is mainly a young persons board, with some exceptions. If I had the gumption, I would poll the older AGGIES on the board and relive the plays of Merlin Olsen Bill Munson, Henry King, tony Adams, Allie Taylor, MaCarther Lane, Roy Shivers....and many, many more. Unfortunately we don’t have highlights of these Aggie greats, for you younger Ags (under 50) to see. I actually submitted a Merlin Olsen play from 1960 or 61. It was stupendous.

But this will be a blast to see how things turn out . Great job!! Can’t wait!!!

I decided to edit the bracket one last time to give that a spot! I had three things from the 2010 win over BYU, so I just replaced one of them with that.

As opposed to Tony Adams 5 td/561 yards passing against Utah in 1972 for the win. That is still the USU record for passing yardage per game. Just sayin.
