So no sooner do I put up my depth chart prediction the spring ball prospectus comes out and shoots it all to hell. Haha!

Maika Magalei to safety.
Simon Thompson to safety.
Cash Gilliam to LB

GONE
Aric Davison - C
Mo Uasike - OL
Sawyer Merrill - WR
Hale Motu'apuaka - DE

New unannounced roster additions
Nehemiah Shird CB - he was actually announced last season and grayshirted
32 Jeremy Fehoko LB 6-2 220 Fr. HS Salt Lake City, Utah (Brighton HS)
53 Kina Maile LB 6-1 225 Fr. HS Salt Lake City, Utah (East HS)
62 Sam Hogan K 5-11 175 Fr. TR Hudson Falls, N.Y. (Glens Falls HS/Cornell)
66 Jase Andersen DL 6-0 265 Fr. HS Lehi, Utah (Lehi HS)
82 Tyrese Mack WR 6-0 180 Jr. JC Brentwood, Calif. (Heritage HS/CC of San Francisco)
I loved the potential of MOTU'APUAKA, any idea what is going on here with him?
No idea yet. I'll try and find out.
I saw hale mo as recently on a workout video from the strength staff. Could be an oversight.
I thought I saw him as well. All I know is, he isn't on either roster.
Maybe I missed this elsewhere......did we ever find out what's going on with Hale? I also was looking forward to Aric Davison eventually getting his day at Center.

I'm confused about Lefeged's switch. Is he playing 'Nickel'? or is he playing that new hybrid LB position similar to what Roquemore played (The SPUR position)?

This article in the Deseret News and interview with Coach A makes it sound like Lefeged will actually be in the Nickel spot.

Perhaps they are calling this spot the nickel but he is not going to be playing a true nickel. When we used Rocquemore as a SPUR, he basically took the place of the typical nickel and we rarely used what would be considered a prototypical nickel.

I’m sure the idea is to get him closer to the line of scrimmage so we can utilize his physicality and tackling. As suggested, I’m betting we use him just like Rocq. Send him on blitzes, run support, and covering the slot. He’ll do great in that roll as I can’t wait to see him making big plays.

Did we ever get an update on Hale Motu'apuaka? I had high hopes for him as a football player.

At 6'2" and an impressive 295lbs as just a Freshman red shirt, I had very high hopes for Hale.

I was able to talk with Hale about two weeks ago. He stated that he will be on the roster this fall. He has a couple of issues to clean up. He was very positive that these would be taken care of. He is excited for the season when it starts and he loves having Gary as a coach.

Hell yeah! My sources were mum on the situation. I couldn't get anyone to talk. Good work my Aggie brother!

Andersen says he needs 45 days of practice before the first game. Usually we have about a month. So those first couple of weeks of practice are going to be a battle for position since they couldn't have those in the spring.

This must be because we missed spring ball. Once fall camp rolls around since 2-a-days were abolished the NCAA stated that 25 practices could be used prior to game week and the most we've used since that rule change was handed down was 22 a few years ago.
