There's a huge caveat here that if Cincy beats Memphis and Boise gets the NY6 bid, it all gets blown up and we'll see all new bowl placements.Chatman wrote: ↑December 4th, 2019, 6:31 amThey are not going to match us up with a P5 team in any bowl. Arizona an outside chance.Aglicious wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2019, 12:20 pmWhile I have hoped for a Cheez-It bowl for a couple of years now, I find myself wishing against it this year only because of the difficulty of the opponent compared to the other options. That sounds like a cowardly outlook but outside of the first game of the season, we have yet to show up for a game when anything important was on the line. I don't think this team has the leadership on or off the field to accomplish great things which kills me to say but given our performance this year I think we only deserve to play a MAC or Sun Belt team in a bowl.
On one hand I get the fascination with the media wanting to showcase J. Love due to his NFL draft potential but on the other hand I'm not sure why when you consider his 17TD/16INT performance over 12 games. He is not playing in some exciting or explosive offense despite what TV announcers keep saying week in and week out. They have been trying to sell it all year to the viewing audience but our eyeballs see a different story.

Boise still won't get the NY6 bid. No Cincy has two losses. Boise would get the bid.YoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑December 4th, 2019, 8:40 amBoise still won't get the NY6 bid. Re: Where will our bowl game be?
Honestly I hope Boise and Memphis lose and Appalachian State gets the NY6 bowl. App State is a darn good team that is underrated. Got a veteran QB and RB and have 2 decent wins vs P5 schools in North and South Carolina. Their only loss was to a bowl eligible team by 3.jeffdan25 wrote: ↑December 4th, 2019, 8:42 amNo Cincy has two losses. Re: Where will our bowl game be?
Part of me is rooting for the same thing. I feel bad for them that they had a brain fart at home against Georgia Southern. Michigan is probably out of contention for a NY6 bowl at this point, but if I were choosing teams for NY6 bowls, I would be doing everything in my power to set up an App State/Michigan matchup. I think that game might draw better ratings than the championship game.ThunderAggie wrote: ↑December 4th, 2019, 12:44 pmHonestly I hope Boise and Memphis lose and Appalachian State gets the NY6 bowl. Re: Where will our bowl game be?
The Potato Bowl pays twice what the Arizona Bowl offers. Arizona pays out around $400K and the Spud Bowl ponies up around $950 Large. Logistics made the Spud Bowl much more attractive than the bowl in Tucson Arizona. Money vs weather......I'll grab the cash every time I can.

Re: Where will our bowl game be?
The Potato Bowl is usually a few days before Christmas, but this year its being played on January 3rd.. At least the team would get more time to practice. I'm not thrilled about it and don't think I could take the very first Friday of the year off to drive up to Boise for a 1:30 kickoff. I'd expect attendance will be really low for this game.

I’m guessing Tucson as well. I originally thought Phoenix but the winds are shifting.JFW_AGGIES wrote: ↑December 7th, 2019, 8:12 pmLooking at flights to DFW. They're going for $400-$500 for the weekend of Jan 4th

For those thinking Arizona — I don’t understand why we are going to the conference’s lowest tier bowl after having finished third overall in conference?
I guess it’s better than Boise.

Sounds like the Armed Forces bowl in Fort Worth is a real possibility.

I would love a Texas bowl game. Armed Forces would be great, Frisco would be ok although that payout isn’t great at all.

Also, about what time will we find out tomorrow? I know the selection show is on but they usually don’t do the smaller bowl games.

Re: Where will our bowl game be?
Looks like it if it is in Texas.
Here is all the bowl agreements. I guess the Big 10 made an agreement for "three SERVPRO First Responders and three Armed Forces bowls in six years. The Big Ten hasn’t been in the Armed Force Bowl since 2014. The Big 12 is contracted to play in the SERVPRO First Responders in 2019."
So if we play in the First Responders bowl we could play a Big 12 team possibly! I hope this is the case because usually not enough teams in Big 10 to make Armed Forces bowl.

Do you have a link? I can’t find that. McMurphy is usually pretty tuned in to this stuff.
It better not be the armed forces bowl. That’s the same day as our home b-ball game against SDSU.

I forgot about that prediction. I saw it too. I REALLY hope that is the game we play in and a possible oppenent. Living in Iowa, I would love to see us take on the Cyclones. That would be a dream scenario! Although if we lose I would get crap from everybody.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑December 7th, 2019, 9:06 pmMcMurphy is usually pretty tuned in to this stuff.

If Utah State plays Iowa State it would be a miracle that I believe Utah State hasn't earned. I hope it's true, because the Aggies need as many miracles as they can get for the FB program.

Re: Where will our bowl game be?
Also, if we play in the Armed Forces bowl, it is the second to last bowl game and is the only one of January 4th. It would be the only one on that day and its on ESPN so would get some viewers! Sadly, the Big 10 probably doesn't have enough teams to fill that game so it would probably be vs Liberty (Independant).

Re: Where will our bowl game be?
It definitely won't be Boise. Nevada is going to be headed there. Outside of that, Texas or Arizona would both be nice. One thing about the Arizona bowl, if anyone drives down they could hit the basketball game in Vegas the next day on the way home. Boise is definitely out though.
Also, no need to worry about payouts. Since the MWC places teams now where they think they'll be successful, payouts go to the conference and are distributed to teams from there.

Re: Where will our bowl game be?
I can see it being one of the lesser Dallas Bowls, but the Texas Bowl would be huge. Payout is more than Vegas....so I don't really see that happening. But if it does, I am so there!
