Enoch Nawahine
How much could one random freshman increase our odds of winning that another player couldn’t on kickoff coverage ?gomretat wrote:If he makes us better and increases our odds of winning games, seems like having him sit is a waste. Its not like we are trying to throw this year away and build for next year. Plenty of reasons to try and win now.

I think the writing is on the wall here. The coaching stuff obviously doesn't see much value is preserving his scholarship for one extra year.

Re: Enoch Nawahine
He had a solo tackle at the 16 on the kick return right before half that pretty much shut down any idea of Fresno trying to run any plays to end half the half. He seemed to be pretty excited about playing right then also and who knows how much that gets teammates fired up for other plays also.2004AG wrote: ↑November 14th, 2019, 8:40 amHow much could one random freshman increase our odds of winning that another player couldn’t on kickoff coverage ?gomretat wrote:If he makes us better and increases our odds of winning games, seems like having him sit is a waste. Also didn’t he already miss a whole year with Boise situation. Seems like he graduated high school in 2017 or something. Having your team's best athletes on the field can create good opportunities at any time and I imagine he might just want to be contributing someway. Chase Hansen at the U is a good example of players just wanting to be on the field and making plays.

Re: Enoch Nawahine
Would like to see him get a few carries a game. Wouldn’t mind seeing him and Warren used in a wildcat formation especially around the goaline.
If he can return kickoffs wouldn’t mind him taking Bright’s spot in kick return

Re: Enoch Nawahine
Those two solo tackles on kick coverage were huge and helped us win that game.

Re: Enoch Nawahine
I think it could be considered a waste if we weren't still in the running for a MWC championship and we were playing him on ST against NM, maybe, but this team still has a chance and him contributing doesn't seem like we're wasting anything to me.

Re: Enoch Nawahine
Oh, so he was the only one on the team that could have made them? How do you know that?
If Nawahine doesn't want to redshirt or he's not that good anyways and an extra year won't matter, then this debate is moot.

Re: Enoch Nawahine
In those situations, there must not have been anyone else that could have made them. That is what "solo" tackle means.

Oh wow. So without EN in there, Fresno returns two kickoffs for touchdowns?!!?? I take it back. That redshirt was worth burning.frankiesaysrelax wrote: ↑November 14th, 2019, 11:54 amIn those situations, there must not have been anyone else that could have made them. I was referring to another player being on the field in his place.

Re: Enoch Nawahine
I understand what you meant, but you are making an assumption that there must be guys on the sideline that could make a play better than him. If that is the case why aren't they on ST making the play. Maybe we don't have our best guys on ST already and Enoch is making these plays over guys that shouldn't be playing, but typically your best players are on the field already and he made the play over those guys.2004AG wrote: ↑November 14th, 2019, 11:59 amOh wow. Also, no one claimed he stopped kick returns but poor field position for the other teams gives you an advantage.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying as can be clearly seen by my message. And I know that because I'm omniscient.
