Re: Wyoming/Nevada
It's not like Nevada's defense is known to be world stoppers. They looked pretty pathetic against us.

Re: Wyoming/Nevada
WYO and USU are pretty even this year. They have a good defense and sub par offense. That is the direction we have been heading as well. They won by 28 we won by 26 which is pretty even.

Re: Wyoming/Nevada
Yes, however, I would say that Wyoming's defense is also tougher to score on than ours.

Re: Wyoming/Nevada
I think he meant the WY offense scored "6" more points against UNR's defense than USU's offense. Unless he included the safety USU got as offense points.AggieFBObsession wrote: ↑October 26th, 2019, 5:43 pmYes, however, I would say that Wyoming's defense is also tougher to score on than ours.

Double checking my math quick:AGinNEIowa wrote: ↑October 26th, 2019, 5:55 pmI think he meant the WY offense scored "6" more points against UNR's defense than USU's offense. We had a safety, and a special teams touchdown, so I didn't count those as offensive points. (9 points)
The rest of the game our offense scored 3 touchdowns and 2 field goals. (27 points)
Total = 36 points
Wyoming today
4 touchdowns, 1 field goal.
Total = 31 points.
More simply, they scored a TD when we scored a FG instead.
So their offensive point (31) minus our offensive points (27) leaves us with Wyoming offensive scoring 4 more points against Nevada than we did.
Did I do it right?

Re: Wyoming/Nevada
I’d say our offense has more potential and upside than Wyoming’s. We played in bad weather and had a bad case of the dropsies and still beat the Pack by 26. That was a subpar offensive showing by us. Wyoming had an above average offensive game today in good weather. Our defenses are pretty even and even though our offense has been sputtering a bit I’d take ours over theirs any day of the week. I’d also take our special teams. The only thing that concerns me is if it is a bad weather game as their style of play is better suited for that. They also seem to get decent pressure on the QB and we saw how they rattled Love last year. We should take care of the Pokes at home though.

Re: Wyoming/Nevada
It was a bit cold outside but I wouldn't say the weather was bad. It didn't rain or snow during the game and it wasn't windy. It was actually quite comfortable inside the stadium.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑October 26th, 2019, 6:39 pmI’d say our offense has more potential and upside than Wyoming’s. Good to know! All I know is it looked cold on TV. Although the TV announcers always tend to play it up a bit. Showed footage of plows clearing snow off the field and stuff.ProvoAggie wrote:It was a bit cold outside but I wouldn't say the weather was bad. Re: Wyoming/Nevada
It was definitely cold and miserable when I first got in to town and I was nervous but by game time it had mostly passed. I didn't even where the gloves that I brought with me.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑October 26th, 2019, 7:41 pmGood to know! All I know is it looked cold on TV. Re: Wyoming/Nevada
a microcosm of how my week has gone- my brain said 36-9=25, but obviously, I didn't put it to Excel....lcrasmus wrote: ↑October 26th, 2019, 6:15 pmDouble checking my math quick:AGinNEIowa wrote: ↑October 26th, 2019, 5:55 pmI think he meant the WY offense scored "6" more points against UNR's defense than USU's offense. I deleted a similar post 3 times, too. So I had plenty opportunity to correct my thinking.
I really should stop trying to be clever/corrective
apologies
