Only if the offense can continue to run three plays as fast as humanly possible. They have that down like a well-oiled machine. I have never seen anything like it at any level of football.

Actually this might be our year.
Not because we are great but because everyone else is meh.

Re: We could win the MWC
I am not saying that we have a perfect team.
Look at the MWC schedule, we have a great schedule. We beat CSU, SDSU, and Nevada.
Wyoming and Boise State at home
Air Force, FSU, and UNM on the road

Re: We could win the MWC
If we win a roadie at AFA next week, I’ll start to believe we have a chance. Next week is arguably our toughest remaining game.
Right now, I am just happy to be 4-2 and 3-0 in conference. So proud of the defense and special teams.
I don’t have anything to express about the offense that doesn’t involve swear words, so I’ll keep quiet.

Re: We could win the MWC
I second this. I predicted we'd win every home game before the season started. I still stand by that.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 12:00 amIf we win a roadie at AFA next week, I’ll start to believe we have a chance. Next week is arguably our toughest remaining game.

The Air Force game has the potential to be the deer in the headlights type of game.

I agree with this. We are 3-0 in MWC play which is tied for best in-conference record with Boise State.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 12:00 amIf we win a roadie at AFA next week, I’ll start to believe we have a chance. Next week is arguably our toughest remaining game.

I really like our AFA matchup this year.
Our run defense is stout compared to our pass coverage.

I like our chances. Next week will be huge but our defense is lights out and will keep us in every game going forward.
SDSU will probably win the West and we beat them in their stadium. We need to bring it every week.

This is also true that SDSU is likely the MWC west champs.MaverickAggie wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 12:05 amI like our chances. Next week will be huge but our defense is lights out and will keep us in every game going forward.

In the triple option that doesn't matter. Our cbs and dbs will have to be disciplined and I just don't see it.

Gotta be more sound as a team. Slow down the hurry up as a start. Impressed with our team though.

Defensively I think we are good enough. I just don’t think we can count on it special teams to go win games.

At least one of your teams had an offensive performance you can express without swear words. The only problem is you would probably use swear words to say how you feel about their defensive performance!ineptimusprime wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 12:00 amSo proud of the defense and special teams.

I won't be surprised if we lose the next 3 games if our offense doesn't get its act together. in fact i am chalking AFA up as a loss already

Re: We could win the MWC
That KU team is so overmatched in Big 12 play that I am happy with any competitive game.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 1:19 amAt least one of your teams had an offensive performance you can express without swear words. KU’s offense had been stagnant all year. Les Miles fired the OC after the last game, and the resulting offensive productions speaks for itself.
I’m not saying we can learn from KU, but if we’re 4-4 after the next two games and its the same stagnation on offense, GA may need to make the same hard choice.
Re: We could win the MWC
Losing next week might be fine (even the next two weeks). Just win the rest. Offense should be clicking by week 7 or 8 right???... I think we have seen what this team is. Hope we get it together but hard to have high hopes for the offense this late in the season. 3-0 though so still in it!

Re: We could win the MWC
Here’s a counterpoint — we could miss a bowl game.
Will win: New Mexico
Should win: Wyoming
Toss-ups: AFA, Boise, BYU, Fresno.
If we lose all the toss-ups (unlikely, but wouldn’t necessarily shock me) and win the other two, we are 6-6.
With seemingly the entire Mountain West getting bowl eligible this year, there’s a chance we get left in the cold at 6-6.
What I actually think will happen is 8-4 with wins over Fresno and one of BYU or Boise, but I just wanted to .

Re: We could win the MWC
This is exactly we I pointed out in the other thread we would have the dilemma with Matt Wells, unrelated to him being our former coach. We want as few eligible teams from the Big 12 and other conferences as possible. Late in the year, we are always wanting the teams that are either eliminated from bowl eligibility or have it wrapped up to beat those teams still fighting for it. Either to get us into the bowls with the other tie-ins, or if we lose the tossups to go 6-6, get other teams into those leaving Arizona or Potato for us.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 9:22 amHere’s a counterpoint — we could miss a bowl game.

Re: We could win the MWC
We are 3-0 in conference so we for sure could win the MWC. We have some tough games coming up, but I like this team and think they are going to read to go. We all wish the offense was clicking more, but 3-0 in conference is where we stand. Defense is playing well. Special teams has been super solid as well.

Re: We could win the MWC
Huh. We just beat, dominated a 4-2 team that's been a thorn in our side for decades, a team that'll go bowling in all likelihood.
Teams are gunning for us every week. League teams have a whole lot of film to scheme against. Wake taught the world to play total war smashmouth ball against us as the key to winning. And so San Diego, CSU, and Nevada girded up their jockstraps, played their guts out, and all got solidly beaten, with CSU being most competitive.
So yeah, we're in the running, and arguably the favorite, with a big ole rock in our road Saturday in Colorado springs

Re: We could win the MWC
Just one loss to BSU or AFA could very well be all that prevents us from going to the MWC championship game. At this point the game at AF next week is a MUST win. The offense needs to get their $h!t together, IF they don't we WILL lose next week.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 10:01 amWe are 3-0 in conference so we for sure could win the MWC. If we lose to AF, but then beat Boise, and all three of us have one loss in conference, who wins the tire breaker?

I believe at that point they would go with the College Football Playoff Rankings and then Sagarin.BigBlueDart wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 2:09 pmIf we lose to AF, but then beat Boise, and all three of us have one loss in conference, who wins the tire breaker?

I always think it's funny when people suggest that teams prepare for us more/differently than their other opponents. Every team is gunning for every opponent every week.USU78 wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 11:08 amHuh.
