How soon are these usually announced? Seems like it should be announced soon for people to plan accordingly.

Re: Nevada Game time?
The game time will be announced tomorrow. I'm guessing it will be either the 2, 5 or 8:30 game. I'm hoping it's the 5:00 that's a really good start time, but we shall see.

I guess I need to fix that part of the home page to show TBA. I'm not used to not knowing the start time for our next game

Don't mind 8:15 one bit.
Get to spend my Saturday here in the valley, and head up to Logan around 5pm.

I love the late starts though the drive home can be a bit of a pain.
My 4 year old may not be as excited. I’ll just have to pump him full of soda and candy to keep him awake

The adversity games really cement the Aggie-ness into the fan. I think it is critical to encourage your kids to attend the late or cold games.

Oh they'll be there and love it, they will just be very tired by the end. i took my two dudes to Boise game last year and made it through the entire CSU downpour game this year already. They will make the late games this year.

Re: Nevada Game time?
The 5:00 slot would have been ideal, but the nice thing about the 8:00 games are generally you can get higher attendance. It gives people time to do their other activities during the day and then attend the game at night.

Re: Nevada Game time?
Do the numbers back this up? Seems like it would really negatively affect attendance, hence so many teams/coaches/schools complaining about late starts. 8:15 is not a family friendly time.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 7th, 2019, 12:45 pmThe 5:00 slot would have been ideal, but the nice thing about the 8:00 games are generally you can get higher attendance. Re: Nevada Game time?
It would be interesting to see the Salt Lake County Aggie numbers on this. If it is a day game or even an evening start I know people that will go, but won't head up for an 8:15 start time.2004AG wrote: ↑October 7th, 2019, 1:46 pmDo the numbers back this up? Completely agree. With young kids, it is not good. I am glad I live in the valley, but it really stinks for those who have to travel (and even worse for those who have to travel with young kids).

Re: Nevada Game time?
The good news for me is my kids will already be asleep by the time of kickoff here on the East Coast, and I can settle in to my man cave uninterrupted with a case of caffeinated beverages. The bad news for me is that the game won't get over until close to 2 a.m. Eastern Time.

Re: Nevada Game time?
I was expecting the BYU and Boise State games to be 8 pm kickoffs, but was not expecting Nevada to be so. I wish it were earlier, but we're making money off it so I get it.

At this rate, Wyoming will be too. I finally sprung for season tickets this season, but I won't be able to keep them with 8:30 kickoffs.

The good news is that my first home football game since 1998 will be a night game, and it won't be 100 degree heat index!
The bad news is, well - given that it's my first chance to be at a home game in over 20 years, there is no bad news.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the attendance at these late night games this year will be better than games against similar opponents at earlier times last year.

Re: Nevada Game time?
I prefer a 1pm game or a 5 pm game. I drive from St. Greed usually two day's before. I am a night owl so the 8:30 games doesn't matter. What matter's now at my advanced age is that I get to damn cold.
Another scabie issue this year is that our schedule really does suck this year. Yes, we have tougher teams this year but my problem is that the games are about once a month at home until November. We played Stoney Brook Sept. 7. then San Diego at their place, then a bye, of which people lose interest waiting for next game. We played CSU Sept. 28.....then LSU next week away, then another bye, lost interest, then no game back in Logan until October 19th, then it becomes a 8:30 game! ARRGH! The conference that put this years schedule together for us, ought to have their butts kicked for having 3 games in November in Logan. Not very smart people! Hell, it doesn't seem like the season starts until Oct 19 with Nevada at home, then on the road, Air Force, then home BYU-Provo, then road, Fresno....etc. A game at home, a game o the road, that is how a schedule should be..Plus, it would have been better to have a bye just before the byu game. I think the players are even getting stale waiting for games, one week after another, not like it is this year! No continuity or mo week after week. A choppy schedule is not conducive to consistency

[This is correct, last years games start times were awesome and attendance was poor. Then peoole complain about 8:00 games. As fans we need to just buck up and get to the games. If there too early people complain there day is shot or have other activities, then complain when its too late. I would love a 5:00 game but we it is what it is. I also live on the wasatch but going to a few night games to cheer on my beloved aggies wont deter me.]

People will find a reason to complain no matter the start time. It really shouldn't matter. I drive from Boise with young kids which means we stay Saturday night in Logan anyway. I do feel like night games are more fun with more energy. No reason Maverik shouldn't be sold out the next 3 home games.

Re: Nevada Game time?
I don’t really think people are just complaining about just the Nevada game. When I look at the schedule, I see this plus three November games ending around midnight. It’s one thing to play on ESPN, but ESPNU and one of three Mountain West games kicking off after 8:00 is not ideal (also considering no other conference has teams kicking after 8:00 that week).MaverickAggie wrote:People will find a reason to complain no matter the start time.
