Re: another RB out
Looks like he got hurt in the last game and he's doubtful for Saturday. Not completely ruled out.ThunderAggie wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2019, 12:54 pmIs he injured? Details?

Re: another RB out
Great, means that they'll be throwing the ball more than usual, remember last year? Lets not let that happen again! Team better be up for this game!

Re: another RB out
With or without Kinsey they would have thrown the ball. Kinsey out just means one less playmaker. I’ll take it and I think it only increases our chances of winning. But, I hope a quick recovery for him and he’ll be back next week.

Re: another RB out
I'm a little more encouraged by the mention of Warren Jackson possibly being held out of our game. He's their next big WR target (6'-6") similar to how Preston Williams was used last year. We've seen how well we match up with big WR's so far.

It sure seems like CSU is a bad matchup for us. Tell me again why I should feel confident?

Re: another RB out
You shouldn't. Look at how many points they have been putting up per game. Most of the Aggie JC DB's can't stop a potato running a slant. Look at the game last year how they shut Love and the offense down. Definitely another worthy opponent to not take lightly. Being at home sure helps though- hard for anyone to beat the Aggies at home.

Re: another RB out
I still have visions of CSU running backs torching us out of the backfield all game long from the last time they played in Logan

Re: another RB out
Any team with good receivers has a punchers chance the way we give away 3rd and 10s like candy. But the Aggies will boat race these guys. If they don't it's gonna be a long long year.sdiggety wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2019, 7:53 pmYou shouldn't. Look at how many points they have been putting up per game. Re: another RB out
If we stay focused and hungry we should be fine. Feels a little like when we beat BYU with DG. I believe the line was about the same and we were down to our second string QB and nobody gave us a chance and we know hoe that turned out.
Re: another RB out
I'll just say.. If SDS had a decent quarterback.. they would have likely won that game at the end. If teams can slow us to 23 points again it won't be hard for them to score more than that on our DB's to win.hickaggie wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2019, 8:07 pmAny team with good receivers has a punchers chance the way we give away 3rd and 10s like candy. We were the better team last year and won by an inch. We were lucky to get the call. I just don’t feel confident when the match ups seem wrong.

Am I the only one who watched BBD's video? How has the conversation just glanced over it so easily.. I think I'm scarred for life.. WHY ARE WE THANKING SMOKEY FOR THAT?
The music was very pleasant though.

Re: another RB out
Probably because it has become an annual tradition to post this video on the forum the week we play rammies. I'm sure the first few years it was posted there was quite a bit of conversation about it.

Re: another RB out
Ahhhhh that makes much more sense. Right after I posted the comment I saw the thread asking if BBD was going to post the video and figured it might be a joke I wasn't yet in on. Glad to have found out!

I’d like to point out the video is titled “thanks Smokey” and the only person to like your post is smokin joe.

Re: another RB out
NV, that potato running a slant comment was outstanding. Thank you for the acerbic observation. I would hope that some time watching game film and some practice field focus would our D B's from observers to players... HOPE....sdiggety wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2019, 7:53 pmYou shouldn't. Re: another RB out
I'm confused... I thought this was only for when we played Fresno St, considering it is the school that is actually applicable to that video?

Re: another RB out
Personally, I don’t get the fear of CSU (or even AFA). CSU has put up a lot of yards (552.3 yards per game) and points sure (34.5 per game), but look at their opponents. Colorado is currently ranked 117th in Total Defense (466.5 yards per game) and 96th in Scoring Defense (30.8 ppg). Arkansas is the best defense that they’ve played this year and they are ranked 82nd in Total Defense (410.3 yards per game) and 79th in Scoring Defense (27.3 ppg). Toledo is ranked 119th in Total Defense (482.3 yards per game) 59th in Scoring Defense (24.3 ppg).
If you look at USU’s opponents, Wake Forest is ranked 59th in Total Defense (358.3 yards per game) and 38th in Scoring Defense (20.3 ppg). San Diego State is, as of right now, the best defense we’ll face all year and is ranked 20th in Total Defense (279.8 yards per game) and 12th in Scoring Defense (11.8 ppg)—which includes the game against a UCLA team that put up 67 points on Washington State.
Long story short, we are a good team. We’ve had let downs in the secondary, but I’ve seen improvement in our pass defense in every game. If we get pressure on their QB (which I think we will) it will give him less time to pick our secondary apart.
We’ll be just fine!

Re: another RB out
[I agree with your post, but having been going to games for 30 years I still get worried about any opponent we face. Deep down I know that we have the better team than CSU right now, but I still get nervous. I like our team and am positive they are going to come ready to play and will perform well, but I also know that CSU is more than capable of winning this game if they put it together. The team is going to do their part, I am just preparing myself to cheer and support the team on Saturday the loudest I can.]AgMan21 wrote: ↑September 24th, 2019, 10:42 amPersonally, I don’t get the fear of CSU (or even AFA).
