Utes
Blowing another game they should win.
Kyle Whittingham, while a great coach, will have a legacy of failing to deliver championships because he has no clue when it comes to building an effective offense with a good QB.

Whit is the problem in Salt Lake.
I’ll never respect the guy after he single handedly killed the battle of brothers rivalry because he’s nutless.

Screw them almost as much as yBu. Love seeing them lose. Their dream is over for this year with Moss out. Even if he’s back soon, that offense is horrible

Re: Utes
USC won tonight because they were aggressive going deep on offense. The lost to BYU because all of there throws were at the line of scrimmage. Come on Aggies be aggressive tomorrow night.

Re: Utes
Utes lost in spite of outgaining 28-16 first downs, 457-381 yards, and 38-22 time of possession. Along with winning the turnover battle 2-1. And USC won with only 13 rushing yards, almost as good as Washington State winning with 0 rush yards last year! I'm pretty sure that us or Boise or any other Mountain West team would have to rush for more than 13 yards to beat them.
Maybe they can meet up with Army in a bowl so they can do the opposite, lose to them after only giving up zero or 13 passing yards.

BYU is also fortunate that USC's quarterback didn't get hurt last week forcing them to put in the other one.

Re: Utes
Utes haven't had a decent QB since Brian Johnson. I mean, our QBs haven't always been amazing, but I can't think of a single time from 2009 to today that I would have traded QBs with UofU. And with Whittingham's heavy hand and cycling through OCs, they've continued to struggle. Has any QB improved while at UofU? Do any good QBs actually consider signing with UofU with their dismal track record? It's insane how bad Whittingham is with the offense there. He needs Hartwell to go down there and force him to hire Yost and ensure he leaves Yost and the offensive staff alone. If Whittingham had an AD with the nuts to do something like that, the Utes might go 13-0.Aggieforlife wrote: ↑September 20th, 2019, 10:32 pmHuntley is a heck of an athlete, but he’s not a good QB. it’s crazy that they can’t seem to find a serviceable QB.

Re: Utes
Running up the middle ensured they would at least finish with more rushing yards than Washington State did in the win over them last year! Also, I just noticed they play Washington State next week, so if they lose, they can set a record for fewest rushing yards allowed in a 2 game losing streak.

Re: Utes
The Utes have the same OC they had in 08 and the fans didn't like him then. They thought they won in spite of him and wanted us to hire him instead of GA!brownjeans wrote: ↑September 20th, 2019, 10:43 pmUtes haven't had a decent QB since Brian Johnson. Re: Utes
Am I the only one that doesn’t want to play BYU and Utah in the same season? With a money game, that’s a kind of boring (BYU, Utah, FCS, money game) and also kind of tough OOC. Should just be BYU or Utah.
As long as BYU will continue doing home and home with us, I don’t care if we ever play Utah. I get much more social capital with a win over BYU anyway.

Crazy how bad he is and I am still seeing Utes talk him up on Twitter. Re: Utes
Yeah, he's a nervous rabbit in the pocket. Can't read a defense, can't go through more than one or two progressions. He can run okay but that's it.sneed wrote: ↑September 21st, 2019, 12:05 amCrazy how bad he is and I am still seeing Utes talk him up on Twitter. Re: Utes
Say what you want about Huntley but he was running for his life all night. Can’t go through progressions in 2 seconds flat. Utah’s OL got completely worked. That’s where they lost the game. Prime example: Huntley getting sacked on 3rd and goal from the 1. Or getting sacked in the end zone for a safety.
They also had the back-up RB fumble on 1st and goal from the 2 and a blocked FG.
This loss wasn’t Huntley’s fault IMO.

Re: Utes
Utah’s secondary looked as helpless against the USC receivers as ours did against Wake. USC’s third string QB was just chucking up jump balls all over and letting their uber talented wide outs make a play.

Re: Utes
Usc have good receivers. The problem last week when they played BYU they went really conservative and essentially negated the strength of their receiving core.

Good QBs handle pressure well. Huntley is not a good QB. When he had time, he acted like he didn't.bluegrouse wrote: ↑September 21st, 2019, 1:25 amSay what you want about Huntley but he was running for his life all night. But you're right it's not his fault
Utah's failures the last 11 years are because Whittingham is the wicked step mother coach. The defense is his biological children, the offense is Cinderella.
The Utes season was on the shoulders of Zach Moss. Now Zach's shoulder is broken and so are the Utes. Whittingham made it that way.

Re: Utes
Kyle is not the reason Utah is not playing USU, I know that for a fact. They have won something like 22 of the last 25 games with USU so I.m not sure how anxious USU should be to schedule yet another school with so much more than what we have..

My understanding is that after 2011 Whit went to hill and said no more home and home with those guys.
That’s when hill tried to sell us the home away home (I can't express myself without swearing) unsuccessfully.

Re: Utes
We can blame the Utes for the game not being home and home, but not Kyle, Hill got pressure from some powerful boosters and made the change.
I wish we could play the pukes again, but I would hope for a more level playing field, perhaps in the future.

How about a QB sneak when you are 3rd and goal on the 1? I don't get it. They even have an under center package. I wish we had an under center package and sometimes used the QB sneak. Go Aggies!
