Not quite David Collette level, but his timing is terrible.

Re: Ingram transferring
So I know this means he is most likely transferring but does it mean it is definite yet?

Re: Ingram transferring
He can still withdraw his name and remain at Utah State at any time. I would point out that Troy Lefeged actually "liked" my tweet, so I'm not sure what that means.

Re: Ingram transferring
If he does transfer this one really hurts. I am starting to be concerned with the amount of people that have left the team since last season. Is this coaching staff doing something different? I was always under the impression this staff was truly a players coaching staff.

Re: Ingram transferring
It could be lots of things. Maybe usu doesn’t have the graduate program he wants. Or maybe since his father died last year he has decided he needs to be closer to home. Either way from a usu football standpoint I really hope he stays. We are already thin at cb, although we did play the majority of last year without a healthy Ingram.

Be interesting to find out what kind of graduate programs Texas tech has.

So are we now 1 deep on the left? Too late to bring someone else in?

Re: Ingram transferring
I would imagine the Cam Haney to safety experiment is over. In regards to bringing someone else in, the question is, is there someone that is good enough to bring in this late? If Ja'marcus really chooses to move on, there really needs to be some consideration into bringing in a graduate transfer of our own.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑July 28th, 2019, 3:09 pmhttps://247sports.com/college/utah-stat ... -133724523

Started/played a bunch last year until injuries struck. I think he would be right in the mix this year. Wonder what the deal is..

No reason to be concerned. The players love GA. He is all about the players and insists his assistance be the same way.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑July 28th, 2019, 2:44 pmIf he does transfer this one really hurts. Re: Ingram transferring
Then why has half the team left? Some decent players that would see the field to.
I'm not pining for Matt Wells. I'm just saying that there are a lot of guys leaving and being a jerk was the knock against Wells

Re: Ingram transferring
Oh quit being so dramatic, turnover is normal with a new staff. I'll l admit Ingram is a loss but the majority of the other transfers were going to be buried on the depth chart.

I must not be paying close attention, but who else has left besides Ingram?
Even with Ingram, our depth at CB was pretty scary thin.

Here's a list of players I'm referencing that we have lost since the end of last season that were expected to be a contributing part of this year's team:
Moroni Iniguez, OL (Graduated and left football)
Morian Walker, RB (? Was expected to contribute at RB this year)
Baron Gajkowski, LB (Injury. Was going to be a significant contributor at LB)
Preston Curtis, WR (? Was expected to contribute in the slot position this year)
SJ Uluave, OL (? Had a promising future on the OL)
Chris Nash, Safety (Transferred out)
Devin Heckstall, WR (? Transferring away)

So basically Ingram is the only player of note to transfer.

Re: Ingram transferring
I really liked Ingram as a freshman and thought he had a bright future. Last year I know he was struggling with an injury but I was not impressed at all with where he was. Go rewatch the BYU game and you'll notice that basically every big gain that the Coogs had through the air was at the expense of Ingram. He had a horrid game but it was largely masked by the great team effort that night.

Re: Ingram transferring
If Ingram is transferring in order to get into the graduate program he really wants, assuming USU doesn't offer it, then good for him. He'll be missed but he has the right focus.

Re: Ingram transferring
It looks like some definite tampering and recent contact from Lubbock Texas.
I knew that this was in the works a week ago. Ingram still has a few hoops to jump through to graduate this summer and it is not a given. He is scrambling on some of the hoops to complete. The grad programs he is looking at are available at USU.
If does transfer to Texas Tech it will be a black eye on Wells in my view. All persuasion and tampering have happened recently. There must be a hole at defensive back in Lubbock.

Re: Ingram transferring
JMarc’s father passed away last year mid-season which would naturally be very hard on him. He’s been close to graduating, is from Texas, and happens to have a very close relationship with the new DB coach at Texas Tech so I would not be surprised at all if he ends up there. For the sake of a young man trying to figure out what was best for himself and his family, this is one of the only circumstances where I would be ok with another coaching staff letting him know that they do indeed have space for him.
I absolutely hope he stays, and losing him would definitely hurt, but I wish him and his family nothing but the best.

Re: Ingram transferring
That makes a lot of sense. So when he would find out if he graduates? Could it be after practice starts? And yes I agree that if wells actually reached out at this point then it is a really poor look on his side and is against the rules. The week before camp starts is really poor timing.IdAggie wrote: ↑July 28th, 2019, 10:22 pmIt looks like some definite tampering and recent contact from Lubbock Texas.

Re: Ingram transferring
Yes I remember the same thing. However I chalked it up to injury and his mind being somewhere else. His dad passed away in September, just weeks before the BYU game and really the part of the season he played. I had hoped that he would return to freshman Ingram.Aglicious wrote: ↑July 28th, 2019, 9:25 pmI really liked Ingram as a freshman and thought he had a bright future. Re: Ingram transferring
This is new state of college FB, so everyone needs to get comfortable with this. Just look at how many guys GA is going to bring with him from Utah, we're still waiting on the DL from the U and he brought the kid from Oregon with him as well. This kind of thing will happen more and more in the future. The good thing is that we have a coach that a lot of kids will want to play for, so we're ahead of the game in that regards!IdAggie wrote: ↑July 28th, 2019, 10:22 pmIt looks like some definite tampering and recent contact from Lubbock Texas.

Re: Ingram transferring
Your right and I get why people will be frustrated by this news. But if people thought that Wells was a great guy your sorely mistaken, Wells is allllllll about himself!! One of the most arrogant SOB's I've ever met. So when something like this happens it not a real big shock to me. I guess we'll have to wait and see if Wells continues to support the program like GA did after he left, I mean after all it's Well alma mater right.

How BYU like! Ah, he's no good anyway, no loss, we don't need or want him. Nonsense! A bad game, a few missed tackles hardly lessens the loss of a quality athlete.Aglicious wrote: ↑July 28th, 2019, 9:25 pmI really liked Ingram as a freshman and thought he had a bright future. Re: Ingram transferring
I am infinitely curious as to the reason for the transfer. He was going to get oodles of playing time this year. This one does hurt, no way to spin it positively for me.
