ACC Network

Post by Aggiefan27 » July 22nd, 2019, 9:07 am

This may have been discussed already. But what are the options for being able to see the Wake Forest game on tv? Which services have ACC Network? Right now I have Youtube TV but I doubt I will get it with that. Any insight would be helpful.

From ACC web page:

How can I get ACCN in time for the August 2019 launch?
ESPN is working hard to ensure that ACCN will be broadly available via video providers across the country. Carriage agreements are already in place with the following video providers: DIRECTV, Google Fiber, Hulu Live TV, Layer3 TV, Optimum, PlayStation Vue, Suddenlink, Verizon Fios, as well as, members of the NRTC and Vivicast Media and more. For the latest updates and list, please visit GetACCN.com. You can also contact your pay TV provider and request that they carry ACCN as part of its channel lineup.

For a minute I was very concerned that YouTube TV would not have this game and then I remembered that I WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE. Cheers to all the haters!

Steps to view the game for free:

1) Download the Hulu App
2) Start a 1 week free trial
3) watch the game and regret you aren't with YBA who WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE
4) Cancel the subscription after the game
5) Enjoy the rest of the season on Youtube TV

Dish has been very good at carrying sports channels but it looks like I'm going to have to go the Hulu Live one week free trial route to watch the opener at Wake Forest unless Dish strikes a last minute deal to carry the ACC Network. With DirecTV carrying it Dish is playing with fire and could stand to lose a lot of customers if an agreement isn't reached.

The problem with these conference networks is that they just don't get good viewership yet conferences demand a crazy amount of money. The big time games that people care about are still on ABC or ESPN. The ACC network is reserved for lower tier games that won't draw as many people. The Pac-12 Network has struggled to get on to all of the TV carriers as well because the few viewers that you lose isn't worth what they want you to pay to have the channel.

I’m going the Hulu Live one week free trial then YouTube TV should carry the rest of the away games.

I'm waiting for Comcast to announce a deal but not counting on it. I called their Customer Service and pretty much felt like they didn't have any Idea what the ACCN even was. I have the Hulu App already on a Smart TV so I'm thinking I'll have to sign up for the One Week free trial of HULU+Live TV then cancel it the Monday after the Game. If I don't cancel it within the free trial time line I'll be charged $49.99 a Month.

I'm a Dish customer and I usually like their coverage. Guess I will have to go to chat for the game.

Comcast is in negotiations with the ACC network, check back after August 22nd, that is the launch date.

It looks like you will be able to watch this on ESPN 3.

So, for example if you have Comcast, you should be able to sign into ESPN 3 on gameday by using your Comcast creds and watch the game.

It's listed in the ESPN 3 lineup.

Just a work around for Comcast customers like myself.

Most likely not. The ACC Network is being produced by ESPN. With most of these conference networks, the games are listed on ESPN3 but you can only actually watch them if you have the parent channel on your TV package. When you actually try to watch this game you'll most likely get an error saying that you don't have that channel.

I just looked again today and it was just announced that the ACC Network will be available on YouTube TV. I am excited since now I won't have to start a new trial with another provider to watch the game.

For anyone that thinks that they'll be able to stream the ACC Network on the ESPN app without having it on your TV package you can now try it out. I just loaded up the ESPN app on Comcast and this is what I see when I choose to watch the ACC Network:

I get the same message when trying to stream ACC Network and I have Dish Network. Hulu Live free trial for one week will be my go to for the game. From what I can tell online it also has a cloud DVR that can be utilized during the trial period.

Nope. I use Windows and MacOS both for work and while Windows isn't perfect it is far better than the alternative.

MacOS: All the bells and whistles of Windows and a pretty user interface with all the power of UNIX under the hood.

Why would anyone use anything else? I may be a psychopath, but I am a very productive psychopath.
